Iran, January 29, 2020—Members of the Iranian opposition “Resistance Units,” along with supporters of the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), have intensified their activities… They are installing images of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and they are escalating their efforts across the country. This campaign is considered a continuation and expansion of the unprecedented November uprising that is very much alive in the hearts and minds of Iranians throughout the country.
An expanding network of people in at least dozens of cities and towns checkered in all provinces of Iran are literally risking their lives to courageously pursue pro-resistance activities against the mullahs’ regime. Supporting the PMOI/MEK is considered a red line for the mullahs.
In Tehran, different resistance units were seen installing images of Massoud Rajavi with a variety of quotes encouraging the Iranian public to support the ongoing protest movement through any means possible.
In the cities of Semnan, Karaj, and Rasht in northern Iran, in Ahvaz and Behbahan in southwest Iran, and Mashhad in northeast Iran, MEK supporters took to graffiti to write a variety of anti-regime slogans in different parts of these populated areas:
“Death to oppressors, be it the Shah, or the Leader,” in a reference to Iranian regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
“Hail to PMOI/MEK, Maryam Rajavi,” in a reference to Madame Rajavi, President of the Iranian opposition coalition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).
“Hail to Rajavi” and “Down with Khamenei”
“Down with the rule of the mullahs”
“Down with Khamenei, the dictator”
“Don’t call me a seditionist! You’re the sedition, you oppressor!”
Any support for the PMOI inside Iran is considered punishable by death by the mullahs’ judiciary. Back in June 2014, Gholamreza Khosravi, a MEK supporter, was arrested and executed merely for sending a small financial donation to a satellite TV network affiliated to the Iranian Resistance. “Gholamreza Khosravi Savadjani was arrested in 2008 in Rafsanjan, Kerman Province, in connection with his alleged support of the pro-PMOI (People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran) TV station Sima-ye Azadi (Voice of Freedom),” according to Amnesty International.
