Iran’s rebellious youth not deterred by new wave of executions

As the mullahs’ regime and its supreme leader Ali Khamenei desperately continue to maintain their hold on power through repression and executions, the rebellious youth of Iran are expressing their defiance by attacking the regime’s centers of repression and corruption as well as its symbols of power.

In their activities, the rebellious youth continue to target the headquarters of the IRGC Basij, one of the main forces tasked with suppressing the Iranian people. The Basij is playing an important role in the recent wave of repressive measures against women and girls, especially in universities where girls are not allowed to attend if they do not abide by the regime’s misogynistic hijab rules.

On April 28, rebellious youth in Rasht, northern Iran, targeted a Basij building with explosives. In Shiraz and Tehran, the youth set fire to the entrance of a Basij base. In Masjed Soleiman, southwest Iran, they set fire to the entrance of a Basij base. In Yazd, central Iran, a large explosion was heard at one of the Basij bases after rebellious youth attacked it. Rebellious youth in Semnan and Zahedan torched the entrance signs of local Basij bases tasked with quelling protests.

These activities are taking place while Iran’s regime has engaged in a series of new repressive measures against women and girls to quell protests and hide its own setbacks and failures. In recent days, there have been many reports and videos of security forces harassing women and girls who do not comply with the regime’s misogynistic hijab rules.

The regime is also ramping up executions to cause terror. In the past two weeks, the regime has carried out at least 59 executions, with 14 executions on April 29th and 30th. The regime executed Sunni Political Prisoner Anwar Khezri on May 1, after 15 years of torture and torment. Regime authorities did not allow his family to meet him before his execution. At the same time, the regime is preparing the grounds to execute more dissidents, including political prisoners Toomaj Salehi, Reza Rasai, and Habib Deris.

On April 28, rebellious youth in Rigan, Kerman province, responded to the wave of executions by attacking the building of one of the regime organs tasked with arresting and prosecuting dissidents. The explosions were heard in the surrounding area.

On the same day, the youths of Isfahan, central Iran, targeted one of the regime’s centers of repression in one of the crowded areas of the city. These activities are highly praised by the locals and the people of Iran, who are fed up with four decades of repression and executions.

Among the activities that have been gaining momentum and popularity is the torching of government propaganda banners, especially those featuring pictures of Khamenei.

In Tehran, Mashhad, Kerman, Eslmashahr, the rebellious youth set fire to posters of Khamenei, sending the message that they are not afraid of his attempts to spread public terror.

In Tabas, the rebellious youth set fire to a large banner of Qassem Soleimani, the regime’s now-dead terror mastermind and former commander of the IRGC Quds Force, best known for his role in orchestrating the regime’s terrorist interventions in the region. Torching posters of Soleimani is an expression of the Iranian people’s opposition to the regime’s export of terrorism, which is coming at the expense of the impoverished population of Iran.

The activities of the brave youth of Iran reflect the rebellious spirit of the Iranian people, who continue to hold protests and call for regime change despite the regime’s unending violence and terrorism.
