On the anniversary of the nationalization of Iran’s oil industry, PMOI Resistance Units carried out a series of activities in various cities across the country to commemorate Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh, the leader of the movement to nationalize Iran’s oil industry and the hero of Iran’s independence.
In Tehran, Resistance Units projected a large image of Mohammad Mossadegh using a video projector on the Azadegan Highway, emphasizing the significance of his path and ideals. This act, conducted in one of the capital’s busiest areas, caught public attention and delivered a clear message of resistance and the ongoing fight for freedom.

Furthermore, in Tehran, Bandar Abbas, Karaj, and other cities, Resistance Units distributed flyers featuring Mohammad Mossadegh and Massoud Rajavi, the leader of the Iranian Resistance, reaffirming that Massoud Rajavi is the true heir to Mossadegh and the national leader of the Iranian people. These flyers not only honored Mossadegh but also emphasized the necessity of continuing his struggle against dictatorship.
Mohammad Mossadegh: A Hero of Independence and Democracy
Mohammad Mossadegh was one of the most prominent figures in Iran’s modern history. By leading the nationalization of the oil industry, he freed Iran’s economic independence from British colonial control. Recognized as Iran’s national hero, Mossadegh stood firm against external pressures and internal betrayals. His unwavering commitment to democracy and the sovereignty of the people made him a model for national and popular leadership.

The Shared Hatred of Mossadegh by the Shah’s Regime and the Mullahs
From the outset, Mossadegh was a target of deep hostility from both the Shah’s dictatorship and the mullahs. The Shah’s regime, unable to tolerate an independent national will due to its alliance with foreign powers and personal interests, collaborated with Britain, the United States, and the cleric Kashani, the spiritual father of Khomeini, to overthrow Mossadegh’s government through the August 19, 1953 (28 Mordad 1332) coup.
Following the fall of the Shah, Ruhullah Khomeini, the founder of the mullahs’ regime, continued this same path, despite claiming to oppose foreign domination. He repeatedly insulted Mossadegh in his speeches, even shamelessly saying that Mossadegh was “slapped”, which exposed his and the mullahs’ deep-rooted hatred for Mossadegh. This common enmity toward Mossadegh by both the Shah and the mullahs reveals their fundamentally anti-national and anti-people nature.

Mossadegh’s Path Continues
Today, as the tyrannical regime of the mullahs continues its repression and plunder of the Iranian people, the Resistance Units, inspired by Mohammad Mossadegh’s path and ideals, continue their struggle for freedom and national sovereignty. The actions of the Resistance Units on the anniversary of the nationalization of Iran’s oil industry demonstrate that the spirit of resistance remains alive in Iran. The path of Mohammad Mossadegh, Massoud Rajavi, and all freedom fighters will persist until the overthrow of tyranny and the establishment of democracy in Iran.
