Iran uprising continues with protests coupled with major currency crisis

Iran’s nationwide uprising is marking its 105th day on Thursday with protests continuing by people from different social sectors while the national currency, the rial, is nosediving alongside a major fuel shortage crisis reported in different cities.

Protests in Iran have to this day expanded to at least 280 cities. Over 750 people have been killed and more than 30,000 are arrested by the regime’s forces, according to sources of Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). The names of 601 killed protesters have been published by the PMOI/MEK.

On Thursday locals gathered in Tehran’s famous Beheshte Zahra Cemetery to mark the 40th day of the killing of Hamidreza Rouhi by the regime’s security forces. The ceremony turned into an anti-regime rally as participants began chanting slogans against the mullahs, including “Death to Khamenei!” and “Death to the dictator!”

Security forces were seen surrounding the area. People participating in the ceremony began establishing roadblocks against the regime’s security forces, who responded by attacking the mourners and firing tear gas.

Similar ceremonies were held in city of Isfahan for another protester by the name of Ali Abbasi. The participants were seen chanting: “Death to Khamenei! Damned be Khomeini!”

In the city of Dehgolan in western Iran locals gathered to mark the 40th day of the killing of Mohsen Niazi and began chanting “Death to Khamenei!”

In Ahvaz, southwest Iran, locals gathered for a ceremony in memory of Atefeh Naami, murdered by the regime’s security forces, and began chanting: “I will kill those who killed my sister!”

In the city of Izeh locals held a similar ceremony marking the 40th day of the killing of Ali Shariati by the regime’s security forces.

In a village near the city of Marvadasht in Fars Province, south-central Iran, people gathered to hold a ceremony marking the 40th day of Arman Emadi’s murder by the regime’s security forces. They began chanting anti-regime slogans and specifically condemning the Revolutionary Guards and the paramilitary Basij.

In Qazvin, northwest Iran, locals gathered to mark the third day of Mehrdad Malak’s murder by the regime’s oppressive security forces. Authorities had dispatched two busses of security units to prevent protests.

Locals in the city of Izeh gathered for a ceremony in memory of Hamed Salahshour, murdered by the regime’s security forces. They began chanting: “We pledge on our compatriots’ blood that we stand to the end!” Another ceremony was held in this city for Milad Saidian-Ju, also killed by the regime’s security forces.

On Thursday night protesters in Gilan Province established roadblocks on the Ramdasht-Rudsar road to take control of their streets and prevent authorities from dispatching their forces to quell their protests.

People in the city of Mashhad in northeast Iran took to the streets on Wednesday night and began chanting anti-regime slogans, including “Death to the dictator!” referring specifically to Khamenei. Similar protests were seen and reported from the Aryashahr, Saadatabad, and Ferdows districts of the capital of Tehran.

On Wednesday morning in the city of Bahmai of Kohgiluyeh & Boyer Ahmed Province in southwest Iran, local investors were protesting and demanding answers from the Puyesh investing company regarding their lost and/or stolen savings.

In a village near the city of Mahabad, locals gathered to mark the 40th day of Mehran Rahmani’s murder by the regime’s oppressive security forces. Rahmani was killed on November 18 when regime security forces opened fire on protesters in this city.

A similar ceremony was held in the city of Bukan, also in northwest Iran, where locals gathered to mark the 40th day of Shahriar Mohammadi’s murder by the regime’s oppressive security forces. Also in Bukan, locals held a gathering marking the 40th day of Ghafour Moludi’s murder by the regime’s oppressive security forces began chanting: “Martyrs don’t die!”

In Tehran, merchants and storeowners in the capital’s Aladdin district began closing shop and going on strike on Wednesday, protesting the extreme currency fluctuation on the country’s national currency, the rial, against the U.S. dollar.

In Sanandaj, the capital of Kurdistan Province, western Iran, locals went on strike and continuing the nationwide protests against the regime on the 104th day of the uprising, supporting their colleagues who’ve had their businesses shut down by authorities.

In other reports on Wednesday, locals in Saqqez, the hometown of Mahsa Amini, were reported to be continuing the nationwide protests against the regime on the 104th day of the uprising.

Workers of a local petrochemical site in Ilam, western Iran, went on strike on Wednesday protesting the expulsion of one of their colleagues, Arash Tabarrok, that led to him committing suicide.

And in the city of Bandar Abbas, southern Iran, people were reporting a major shortage of diesel fuel in gas stations for many days now. This crisis is crippling the country’s fleet of trucks.

Iranian opposition coalition NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi once again praised the Iranian people, especially the courageous youth, for their relentless protests against the mullahs’ regime that is keeping the ongoing revolution very much alive.

“You, Iran’s valiant youths, have found the secret to victory and freedom, which is the expansion and continuation of the protests. No power can prevent the continuation of your uprising. Flogging, torture, and execution cannot counter your power of hope and faith,” the NCRI President-elect emphasized.

The protests in Iran began following the death of Mahsa Amini. Mahsa (Zhina) Amini, a 22-year-old woman from the city of Saqqez in Kurdistan Province, western Iran, who traveled to Tehran with her family, was arrested on Tuesday, September 13, at the entry of Haqqani Highway by the regime’s so-called “Guidance Patrol” and transferred to the “Moral Security” agency.

She was brutally beaten by the morality police and died of her wounds in a Tehran hospital on September 16. The event triggered protests that quickly spread across Iran and rekindled the people’s desire to overthrow the regime.
