Iran, August 9, 2021—On Tuesday, the people of Jughan, a Charmahal & Bakthiary province, held a rally in protest to the arrest of Habib Fadayee, one of the citizens of the county.
Fadayee was beaten and arrested earlier today by security forces. The protesters blocked roads and chanted, “Our imprisoned brother must be freed.”
The workers of the Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Company continued their strike on August 10 for the 29th consecutive day in front of the governor’s office in the city of Shush, in the oil-rich province of Khuzestan, southwest Iran.
The main demands raised by the protesting workers are:
– Immediate payment of their delayed paychecks and extension of their insurance booklets
– Immediate return to work for fired colleagues
– Official hiring of contract workers along with the benefits of official employment
– General, fast, and free Covid-19 vaccination
Medical students held a rally for the second consecutive day on Monday, protesting repressive discriminatory policies, difficult situation of the internship, very low tuition aid, high working hours, not taking into account insurance and work experience for these students. The students held their rally in front of the medical school in the city of Kermanshah western Iran.
In a letter on August 8, the employees of Pars Oil and Gas Company platforms addressed to the CEO of company and announced that if they do not see their delayed salaries in the August’s payroll, they will resume their protests from August 22.
A group of clients who had placed their savings in the state-run Caspian credit firm rallied in front of Fereshtegan finance and credit institute in Tehran on Sunday, demanding their stolen savings returned.
The firm is linked directly to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), designated as a “Foreign Terrorist Organization” (FTO) by the U.S. State Department.
State-backed credit and financial institutions are plundering the Iranian people’s wealth.
Despite the issuance of a permit by the Central Bank, the court does not order the return people's wealth.
On Sunday, August 8, a group of employees of the Saveh Fire Department held a rally inside the Saveh City Council building seeking answer for their demands.
