“We would not be in such circumstances if vaccination had begun sooner. In the next four weeks the number of new cases will increase, and the death toll will be increasing in the next six weeks… This evaluation is in ordinary circumstances, meaning if we don’t have gatherings across the country,” said Deputy Health Minister Iraj Harirchi on Tuesday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“We truly don’t know what to do. We are using our entire capacity and all our equipment. Our last-ditch effort is using mosques as coronavirus branches. Here the hospital’s cafeteria is also being used to hospitalize patients,” said the head of Tehran’s Chamran Hospital on Monday, according to state TV.

“The increasing number of coronavirus deaths will lead to a shortage in coffins and ambulances in this major city,” said the mayor of Mashhad on Tuesday. “Regarding the rising number of corpses in hospitals, there were some concerns that were resolved through various coordination measures. Last night corpses were transferred to Beheshte Rezvan Cemetery. Yesterday we had 42 deaths due to Covid-19,” this official added, according to the Fars news agency, an outlet linked to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).

“We are in the direst of circumstances regarding the spread of coronavirus. All our hospitals in the provincial capital province, even the emergency branches, have reached their capacity limits. Right now, we have a patient with 86 percent of their lungs engulfed by coronavirus and 80 percent of their oxygen provided by a ventilator, yet we don’t have a bed for this individual,” said the deputy dean of Lorestan Medical Sciences University on Tuesday. “We truly don’t know what to do. In the coming two or three days there won’t be any space for patients even in the hospital courthouse,” this official added, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“The number of people hospitalized across [Gilan] province was extremely high during the past 24 hours. We hospitalized 450 new patients and 38 coronavirus patients lost their lives during this period,” said the deputy dean of Gilan Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“The situation is so critical that Imam Hassan Hospital in the city of Bojnourd reached its full capacity last night. There are no available beds in this hospital and currently we are placing beds in the hallways of the emergency branch in order to increase the number of critical patients that we can accept,” said the dean of North Khorasan Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“Currently all our hospitals have reached their full capacities and we have no choice but to place new patients in the hallways. The average death toll in [the city of Gonbad Kavus] has reached ten per day,” said the mayor of this city on Tuesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“All the records registered in the fourth wave have been broken in the fifth wave and we had a new record yesterday. Nearly all our hospitals have reached their capacity limits. We have no clue when we will reach the peak of this wave. There is no plan to stop the factory that is producing more and more patients in Isfahan,” said the spokesperson of Isfahan Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.
