Iran, July 9, 2019 – The Iranian opposition coalition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) called for a Free Iran rally in Berlin during which NCRI President Maryam Rajavi delivered a video speech in support of the Iranian people’s uprising and their organized resistance, according to the Associated Press. The rally was held at Berlin’s historic Brandenburg Gate.
Iranian demonstrators marched in Berlin calling for the prosecution and expulsion of individuals in Europe and Germany who are linked to Iran’s terrorist-designated Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and the Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS), according to Al Arabiya, adding around 15,000 exiled Iranians attended the demonstration, emphasizing their support for popular protests against the mullahs’ regime in Iran.
A number of international dignitaries, including former U.S. Congressman Patrick Kennedy, Columbian-French politician Ingrid Betancourt, German MP Thomas Nord, and others attended and delivered speeches at the Berlin rally.

The EPA photo agency published 40 images of the Berlin rally saying NCRI supporters gathered in the German city calling for regime change and establishing democracy in Iran.

Organizers say around 15,000 participants attended the massive demonstration called upon by the exiled Iranian community. The Iranian regime is being condemned for years now for its numerous executions each year, the report adds.

Germany’s Die Welt website wrote:
“Several thousand people demonstrated on [July 6] in Berlin against the political system in Iran and for human rights. Under the motto: ‘Solidarity with the Citizens' Protests in Iran – Against the Death Penalty,’ they held a rally at the Brandenburg Gate in the evening. A large banner read: ‘Time for a free Iran’. Many people wore Iranian flags and held large balloons in the national colors green-white-red. The protest march was registered by the exiled Iranian society.
“In Iran, the death penalty is imposed for, among other things, murder, rape, armed robbery, and heavier drug trafficking. Iran has been the focus of international criticism for many years due to its numerous executions.”
Mrs. Rajavi warned European countries over the threat of providing any incentives to the mullahs’ regime in Iran and explaining how trade with Tehran will only fuel the regime’s oppressive domestic practices and terrorism policies abroad. In parallel fashion, dignitaries called on the international community to stop Iran’s export of terrorism and sectarian wars to the Middle East, the London-based Ilaf outlet reported.
