“The main vaccine used in Iran has been Sinopharm. It is correct that these vaccines are less effective in comparison to other vaccines, but we needed to use a vaccine we had at our disposal,” said Majid Mokhtari, a member of the regime’s Vaccine Committee on Monday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.
“In some small cities we are witnessing an increasing number of new cases and people being hospitalized. This is an issue that has only happened in this period and nearly in all cases the illness trend has been similar in all areas of the country. Right now, the number of new cases and people being hospitalized differ in various provinces. Some areas are worsening, and we will have to see how this turns out,” said Hamidreza Abtahi, a member of the National Covid-19 Task Force on Monday, according to the state-run Salamat News website.
“Most certainly we are nearing the sixth peak and many eastern and central provinces are registered as red zones. Currently the number of new cases in Semnan province has increased. In such circumstances we need correct decisions aimed at controlling the peak, not to cause the peak to have a longer curve, and only then to decide to control it. Decisions need to be made to stop the virus transmission, not by lifting restrictions to help the wave expand,” said Alireza Naji, a member of the National Covid-19 Task Force on Monday, according to the state-run Alef website.
On Monday, the deputy dean of Shiraz Medical Sciences University referred to the significantly increasing number of people being hospitalized and the daily death toll in Fars province reaching double digits again. We currently have 1645 patients hospitalized, of which 197 are in ICUs,” this official explained, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.
“During the past 24 hours 99 coronavirus patients have been hospitalized. We currently have 87 coronavirus patients in dire conditions in ICUs. There are currently a total of 424 patients hospitalized,” according to a statement released by the Yazd Medical Sciences University on Monday.
“During the past 24 hours, 217 new coronavirus cases have been identified, indicating a 97-case increase in comparison to yesterday. Furthermore, the number of people being hospitalized increased by 12 percent in comparison to yesterday,” said the deputy dean of Qazvin Medical Sciences University on Monday, according to the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.
“During the past 24 hours 630 new coronavirus cases have been registered. We currently have 968 patients hospitalized, of which 43 are under ventilators,” said the dean of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Monday, according to the Tasnim news agency.
