In a powerful display of defiance against this state-sanctioned terror, PMOI Resistance Units and freedom-loving youth have launched widespread campaigns across Iranian cities to support the “No to Executions Tuesdays” campaign, which just marked its 135th week across 61 prisons. These activities explicitly demanded the cancellation of death sentences and emphasized standing against suppression while continuing the struggle for freedom.

The Resistance Units are successfully bridging the gap between political prisoners and the streets, proving that the regime’s strategy of intimidation is failing to silence the Iranian public.
Resistance Units in cities including Isfahan, Arak, Varamin, Ahvaz, Sanandaj, Rasht, and Mashhad carried out activities such as installing posters, writing graffiti, holding photo calls, and distributing protest messages. In Sanandaj, activists held placards reading, “From Kurdistan to Tehran, everyone is against executions,” while Rasht and Mashhad saw “No to executions” messages.
By publicly honoring recently executed PMOI members, the Resistance Units are shattering the regime’s propaganda, highlighting the true identities of these highly educated martyrs whom the regime attempts to smear with false charges.

In Arak, activists placed a floral wreath with a color photo of martyr Pouya Ghobadi, alongside the message, “Dear Pouya, you will never be forgotten, you are with us in every step.”
Pouya Ghobadi, a 33-year-old electrical engineer and PMOI member, was executed on March 31, 2026, after enduring severe torture in Evin Prison’s Ward 209. His death sentence was issued by criminal judge Iman Afshari in Branch 26 of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court. In a desperate bid to justify his physical elimination, the regime’s Tasnim News Agency falsely labeled him an “armed terrorist”.
In Isfahan, a similar floral wreath honored martyr Hamed Validi, reading, “Dear Hamed, your memory is always with us and alive in our hearts.” Hamed Validi, a 45-year-old civil engineer, was executed on April 20, 2026.

The Resistance Units are actively serving as the voice for vulnerable political prisoners, fighting back against a compromised judiciary that takes direct orders from the regime’s security institutions. In Ahvaz, Resistance Units displayed a placard strongly condemning the confirmed death sentence of political prisoner Arghavan Fallahi.
Arghavan Fallahi is currently held in the women’s ward of Evin Prison. Her sentence comes during a rapid acceleration in executions aimed at suppressing dissent, with 378 executions recorded since the start of the Persian year in March 2026 alone, and over 4,000 executions since Masoud Pezeshkian took office in 2024. The courage of the Resistance Units working in synergy with the 61 striking prisons demonstrates a united front against capital punishment, proving that the regime’s reliance on the gallows is only fueling further resistance.
