An appeals court in Antwerp, Belgium, held its final session on Friday, March 4, for Iranian regime terrorists involved in the foiled 2018 bombing plot targeting the Iranian Resistance rally held just north of Paris. In this hearing lawyers presented their conclusions following remarks from bomb experts. The final court ruling will be issued on April 20.
Assadollah Assadi, the Iranian regime’s diplomat-terrorist, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for his direct in the plot and transferring the explosives from Tehran to Europe in a diplomatic pouch on a passenger flight. He turned down an opportunity to request for appeal, accepting the initial sentence to thus save the mullahs’ regime further disgrace.
Nasimeh Naami, an agent affiliated to the Iranian regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS), was sentenced to 18 years in prison, and her Belgian passport and citizenship being revoked. Amir Saadouni has been sentenced to 15 years behind bars and his Belgian passport and citizenship revoked on charges of collaboration with the bomb plot. Mehrdad Arefani was sentenced to 17 years in prison and his Belgian passport and citizenship revoked.
Arefani, who began cooperating in prison with the Iranian regime after being arrested back in the 1980s, was dispatched to Europe by the MOIS. He sought to normalize his presence in Europe by introducing himself as an atheist poet. When searching his home, authorities found a significant amount of surveillance equipment and devices used to collect information about the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), and their members and supporters across Europe, especially in Germany.
The MOIS had ordered its agents to place the bomb as close as possible to Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the Iranian opposition coalition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the keynote speaker at the 2018 rally.
German authorities confiscated several notebooks from Assadi’s vehicle. In just one notebook there are the names and addresses of 289 different individuals working with the MOIS against the PMOI/MEK, especially to collect information necessary for the MOIS’ demonizing campaign and terrorism plots. These individuals received money from the MOIS for their services.
Some 144 different notes in just one notebook are associated with espionage and a demonization campaign by the MOIS’ agents against the PMOI/MEK in Germany.
The PMOI/MEK has long made different revelations indicating how the individuals active in the demonization measures against the PMOI/MEK in Germany are not working for free, and their names can be found in different notebooks affiliated directly to the MOIS.
German intelligence services have repeatedly issued annual reports emphasizing that the PMOI/MEK are the main target of demonization, terrorism, and espionage activities carried by the Iranian regime’s agents.
