While the destructive and fraudulent use of artificial intelligence by the clerical regime and monarchist remnants has been well-documented, the Anthropic company has claimed that the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) have engaged in deceptive influence operations on the Claude platform in violation of regulations. The PMOI and the NCRI became aware of these entirely false allegations only upon the publication of the Anthropic report, having had no prior knowledge of them. The company did not once contact the PMOI or the NCRI regarding this matter. It appears that the leveling of unilateral accusations were prioritized over an impartial investigation and the presentation of concrete evidence. Notably, Anthropic admitted its report did not ‘show visible sign of coordination’ between users and the PMOI and that it ‘is not able to confirm the level of centralized control’ by the PMOI.
The PMOI and the NCRI have no knowledge of or connection to the activities described in the Anthropic report, have strictly adhered to all relevant regulations, and remain unaware of the specific activities cited in the report or the grounds for their subsequent removal. The findings of the PMOI’s investigation into these allegations, as of 16:30 (Central European Time) on Sunday, September 13, 2026, are as follows:
No abuse or fraudulent activity has been or is being committed by the PMOI or the NCRI using artificial intelligence. All content related to the dissemination of the ‘No to Mullah, No to Shah’ slogan, as well as the official statements of the PMOI, the NCRI, and the Resistance leadership, represent positions that the PMOI proudly upholds and for which it takes full responsibility; it has no need for fraud, concealment, or the abuse of artificial intelligence. Any actions taken by individual members or supporters, who are engaged in exposing the religious fascism in different countries around the world and throughout Iran, whether or not they were aware of specific AI platform regulations, are the sole responsibility of those individuals.
Since the 1980s, the PMOI has maintained that it respects and abides by the laws of the countries in which it operates. In the event of any proven legal violation by its members or supporters, the organization calls for them to be held strictly accountable. The PMOI also declared several decades ago that it is prepared to provide compensation and pay damages in any case where a complainant’s grievances are found to be valid.
According to the PMOI’s inquiries, no accounts belonging to the PMOI or its members and supporters have been recently deleted from artificial intelligence platforms. Only one account (belonging to A.K.), which had been utilizing artificial intelligence for one month since last July, was closed; the user believed the closure resulted from a non-payment issue, as no warning or notice regarding a violation of regulations had been received. This account merely redistributed the publicly declared and recognized positions of the PMOI transparently. It is noteworthy that six of A.K.’s relatives—Abdullah, Mohammad-Amin, Rahim, Hassan, Omar, and Hossein—have been executed by the mullahs’ regime. No other network or individual’s account has been closed, and the claim of systematic unauthorized use of artificial intelligence against the mullahs and the Shah by the PMOI or its affiliates is a total fabrication. A.K.’s social media accounts remain active, and only his artificial intelligence account was closed.
The PMOI once again calls on all its members and supporters worldwide to study and strictly observe the rules and regulations governing artificial intelligence. The PMOI also requests that Anthropic share any specific instances of policy violations or unauthorized use that it believes are directly or indirectly related to the PMOI and the Iranian Resistance with their offices in various countries as soon as possible. This transparency will prevent the fabrication of baseless accusations regarding the unauthorized use of artificial intelligence against the PMOI.
