May 11, 2019 – Pakistani media outlets reported that the police have arrested 19 people on Monday for their role in the recent unrest and sectarian clashes erupted in the city of Karachi, south of Pakistan.
“Each of these individuals has received 40,000 rupees (almost $285) from a neighboring government,” Pakistan’s Deputy Attorney General Amir Farough said without naming the country.
Meanwhile, a Pakistani reporter tweeted that these 19 culprits who have been arrested were trained in Iran by the notorious Revolutionary Guards (IRGC). According to this reporter, they were trained to carry out sectarian terror attacks targeting the Pakistan economy.
The U.S. State Department recently designated the IRGC as a “Foreign Terrorist Organization” (FTO).
Pakistani media outlets reported that these people were involved in 50 terrorist attacks around the city of Karachi. They confessed during interrogations that there were 28 other targets in their target list. They were also charged with recruiting new members to carry out their terrorist operations.
