While the increasing Covid-19 death toll is escalating public anger over the regime’s hesitation in purchasing the coronavirus vaccine, regime President Hassan Rouhani resorted to his deceitful remarks again on Saturday and literally said no one should expect vaccination to begin any time soon.

“The vaccine has its own special problems. We in Iran have a population of 84 million and a significant number of vaccines are necessary. Therefore, we will begin the process based on the priority. Now, if all the vaccine doses needed is procured, we do not have all the essentials to vaccinate everyone in one or two days. Seven, eight or ten months is needed. If we act fast it will be five to six months… therefore we need to be ready for the next year,” he said.

Alireza Raisi, spokesperson of the National Covid-19 Task Force, said on Saturday that the number of orange zone cities have doubled and warned of a new rise in the virus in eight provinces. “Last week we had orange cities in two provinces. Now we have provinces in such orange cities in 11 provinces and the province and city of Tehran and Alborz remain yellow zones,” he added, according to state TV.

“The number of people hospitalized during the past week have increased 20 to 25 percent in comparison to the week before. First the number of patients seeking medical treatment, then those hospitalized and then the death toll will all increase,” said the governor of Lorestan province on Saturday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“The triple fold increase in the number of new cases resulted in a shortage in hospital beds last night across the province,” said the chair of the Health and Medical Treatment Center in the city of Bandar Mahshahr in Khuzestan province on Thursday. “If we continue down this path, we will most certainly face a severe peak similar to the one seen last summer when we lost a large number of people,” according to the state controlled Khorna media outlet.

Dean of Kerman Medical Sciences University reported a ten percent increase in the number of people being hospitalized for coronavirus. “The number of dire patients among those being hospitalized has increased,” the official said on Saturday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“The city of Ardastan is now considered an orange zone and eight other cities are now yellow zones. The number of people hospitalized stands at 420 and 79 of them are in ICUs,” according to a Saturday report on state TV.

“With 77 new patients hospitalized, the number of people hospitalized across West Azerbaijan province stands at 392, of which 127 are in ICUs,” said the dean of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Saturday. “The total number of deaths has reached 3532 across the province,” according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

In Semnan province three cities are yellow zones and one is registered as an orange zone. The stats reported by the Semnan and Shahroud Medical Sciences universities show an increase in the number of new cases and deaths, and the province entering a fourth peak, according to a Saturday report wired by the Mehr news agency.

“Currently, nine cities are yellow zones. We have 368 people hospitalized and 75 are in ICUs,” said the dean of Golestan Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“Last week seven cities were registered as yellow zones. From Saturday these numbers have changed to ten yellow zone cities and one orange zone city,” said the deputy chair of the East Azerbaijan province Covid-19 Task Force on Saturday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.
“Yellow areas have increased to seven cities. Concerns over a fourth peak is extremely high in Yazd province and the status quo is very concerning,” said the dean of Markazi Medical Sciences University on Friday, according to IRNA news agency.
