On September 15, 2026, on the eve of the fourth anniversary of Iran’s 2022 uprising, PMOI Resistance Units carried out a series of anti-regime activities across the country despite the heightened alert of the regime’s security apparatus.
The activities came as the regime’s State Security Forces Chief Ahmadreza Radan claimed that authorities were pursuing and arresting PMOI members. Nevertheless, Resistance Units projected messages in public places and organized dozens of other activities, directly challenging the regime’s attempts to impose fear and silence dissent ahead of the anniversary.
Resistance Units take the message to cities across Iran
Resistance Units conducted image projections in Kerman, Hamedan, and Kashan and carried out 30 additional activities in cities including Tehran, Mashhad, Isfahan, Shiraz, Kermanshah, Saveh, and Karaj.

Their methods included collective displays, graffiti, and the placement of posters and leaflets in public locations. In Shiraz, Resistance Units put up messages at several separate points, while graffiti appeared at multiple locations in Mashhad and Shiraz. Activities were also reported in several areas of Isfahan.
The geographic dispersion and variety of these actions were particularly significant given the security conditions. Every public projection, inscription, or collective display required participants to evade the regime’s surveillance and repressive forces. By carrying out activities in several cities at the same time, the Resistance Units demonstrated that the regime’s threats and security mobilization had failed to suppress organized opposition.
A clear political message against both dictatorships
The slogans displayed by the Resistance Units conveyed a coherent political message. In Kerman, an image projection declared, “Monarchy and mullahs’ rule, one hundred years of crime.” In Hamedan, another read, “No to the bloodthirsty shah and mullahs.” In Isfahan and Karaj, Resistance Units wrote, “Down with the oppressor, be it the shah or the supreme leader.”

Other messages presented the overthrow of the clerical regime as the solution to Iran’s crisis and advocated a democratic republic. They included “The answer to the issue of Iran is the overthrow of the clerical regime in its entirety” and “Hail to Rajavi, long live the democratic republic of Iran.”
Messages supporting Massoud and Maryam Rajavi appeared alongside declarations of continued struggle, including: “We swear on the blood of our comrades that we will stand till the end.”
The uprising the regime cannot erase
The activities recalled the nationwide uprising that began following the death of Mahsa Zhina Amini on September 16, 2022. What began with protests in Saqqez and Tehran rapidly spread across Iran and developed into a movement demanding the overthrow of the regime.
The uprising reached more than 282 cities. At least 750 protesters were killed by the regime’s security forces, and approximately 30,000 people were arrested. Women, young people, students, and schoolchildren played a prominent role in confronting the regime.

Four years after the uprising, the regime’s heightened security alert reflects its continuing fear of Iranian society and organized resistance. Yet the activities of the Resistance Units showed that arrests, surveillance, and threats have not extinguished the desire for freedom or restored the regime’s wall of fear.
By honoring the 750 martyrs, challenging the regime in public spaces, and promoting the objectives of overthrow and a democratic republic, the Resistance Units transformed the anniversary into renewed defiance. They are keeping the flame of the 2022 uprising alive and preparing the social and political ground for the next uprising—one that can overthrow the clerical regime and open the way to a free and democratic Iran.
