Khamenei’s enmity toward peace in the Middle East

On December 11, the state-run Tasnim News Agency wrote an article featuring the statements of the regime foregein minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian at the 21st Doha Summit, attended by leaders of countries and regional organizations, in which Amir-Abdollahian clearly stated that the regime rejects a two-state solution.

The regime’s opposition to the two-state solution happens while the international community and Islamic and Arab countries increasingly emphasize the two-state solution as the only way to end the war in the region.

What Amir-Abdollahian has expressed is not an “undiplomatic statement,” but the inevitable revelation of the long-standing enmity of this regime towards Palestine, Middle East peace, and investment in sowing division and warmongering at the cost of the blood and immense suffering of innocent civilians.

Ruhollah Khomeini, the founder of the mullahs’ regime, and Ali Khamenei, the regime’s current supreme leader, have done everything in their power to antagonize the Palestinian Liberation Organization, Yasser Arafat, Mahmoud Abbas, and the aspirations of the Palestinian people. From the beginning, their actions have been aimed at sowing division and obstructing the realization of a two-state solution and Middle East peace. They have attempted to portray themselves as defenders of the Palestinian people through their blatant betrayals. It is exactly the same tactic they have employed with the oppressed and impoverished people of Iran, casting them aside while hypocritically claiming to support the downtrodden.

In an article on October 19, Al-Arab Newspaper unveiled the 40-year secret of the regime and the 30-year track record of Khamenei regarding the Palestinian issue. The article stated, “Historically, the Iranian regime has shown no real commitment to the Palestinian cause and has never demonstrated any assistance towards the survival or refuge of a Palestinian.”

In opposition to the two-state solution, and in betrayal of the Palestinian people, Khamenei proposed a referendum for the governance of one country. This suggestion was so ludicrous that even members of the regime itself do not take seriously.  On December 11, war critic and analyst, Rahim Ghomeishi, wrote on Telegram, “You said you have a solution for the Israel-Palestine conflict, and when asked what it is, you said a referendum. Let all the people there do what they want. They asked, ‘Why don’t you hold a referendum in your own country?’ You became furious and said, ‘Do the people have the capability to analyze issues? Do they have the right to express their opinion on every matter?’ Are you suggesting that the people of Iran understand much less than the people of Israel and Palestine? How do you explain this contradiction?’

The Iranian Resistance has long exposed the regime’s warmongering ambitions and its opposition to peace in the Middle East. On December 12, the elected President of the Resistance, Maryam Rajavi, in a message to a conference at the U.S. Congress said, “The regime’s warmongering in the region and its opposition to peace are nothing new. After the 1993 peace agreement, the Iranian Resistance congratulated the leaders of Israel, Palestine, and the U.S. The mullahs’ regime, however, was the main party that actively engaged in hostility to the peace process.

“However, according to numerous evidence and documents, the head of the snake of war and terrorism lies in Tehran.

For this reason, the Middle East crisis has one solution and only one solution: firm action against the religious fascism in Iran. “
