Khamenei admits to accelerating crises in the new year

On Thursday, the dollar surpassed 640,000 rials. This rapid increase in the exchange rate is a clear indication of the plummeting and uncontrollable decline in the national currency, reflecting the rapid collapse of Iran’s economy. The extent of this collapse is so apparent and undeniable that on April 3, Iranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei himself was compelled to dedicate a significant portion of his speech during a meeting with government officials to address it.

Khamenei, whose concern is not Iran’s economy but rather fear of a societal explosion and the threat of nationwide uprisings, said, “The bitter aspect related to the economy is inflation, market instability, and the devaluation of the national currency. It is the class divide.”

However, he sarcastically and deceptively mentioned the sweet realities of the economy and said, “The sweet aspect relates to the extensive infrastructural activities that are taking place, and their results will become apparent in the medium term, if not the long term.”

If Khamenei is to be taken seriously, it becomes evident that the economic bitterness is all genuine and real, while the sweetness is deceitful and an illusion of the future. But when it comes to the speed of the crisis and the realities on the ground, it is enough to pay attention to the fact that in just these 15 days that have passed since the beginning of year 1403, the dollar rate has increased by about 20%, and accordingly, it has added to inflation, price hikes, dissatisfaction, and anger of the people, especially the deprived and hardworking ones.

The comparison in the statements made by Khamenei on April 3 and on March 20 (the first day of new year in the Iranian calendar), is another indication of the intensification of the crisis. During the Nowruz celebration, he listed the economic problems as one of the bitter news of the past year and said that economic collapse is the desire of the enemies. However, 15 days later, he points his finger at specific indicators of economic collapse, such as “inflation, market instability, devaluation of the national currency, and class divide.”

These harsh realities demonstrate that Khamenei sees warmongering as the solution for saving the regime and suppressing the uprising.

As the only way out of the comprehensive economic, social, and political impasses that the regime is facing, Khamenei has pledged his support for the continuation of war in Gaza and its expansion in ‘West Asia,’ and saying, “Today, the primary issue is Palestine and Gaza. Resistance in West Asia is now a fundamental issue.”

But now the “head of the snake” has become a global issue, and everyone knows that for Khamenei, preserving the regime is the highest priority.

Now, after six months of war and massacre in Gaza, the “head of the snake,” which the Iranian Resistance continuously emphasized over the years, has become more evident than ever. Khamenei is now slowly paying back for his strategic mistakes in warmongering in the region.

The ultimate solution, however, is to support the people of Iran in their struggle for freedom by recognizing their right to defend themselves against the regime and overthrow the tyrannical rule of the mullahs to establish a democratic republic.
