The clerical regime in Iran has intensified its brutal wave of executions in a desperate bid to maintain control, but the Iranian people and their Resistance are refusing to back down. On May 7, PMOI/MEK Resistance Units carried out a series of daring operations across the country, targeting the regime’s centers and symbols of repression. These coordinated strikes were launched in direct response to the recent executions of political prisoners and protesters arrested during the massive nationwide uprising of December 2025 to January 2026, a historic revolt that brought the clerical establishment to its knees.
A blind act of revenge against rebellious youth
The immediate catalyst for the Resistance Units’ latest campaign was the execution of three courageous young men—Mehdi Rasouli, Mohammadreza Miri, and Ebrahim Dowlatabadi—in Mashhad.
On May 4, the regime officially announced their hangings. According to the judiciary’s news agency, Mizan, these youths were accused of “leading and directing rioters” during the recent nationwide uprising. Mizan reported that Rasouli and Miri had a direct role in eliminating a Basij paramilitary member, Hamidreza Yousefinejad, while Dowlatabadi was labeled a main leader of unrest in Mashhad’s Tabarsi district.

Surrounded by insoluble crises, the ruling clerics are using these daily executions as a blind and ruthless act of revenge against a people who rose up last January to overthrow religious fascism.
The post-uprising purge reveals profound weakness
These hangings do not occur in a vacuum; they are part of an accelerated killing machine attempting a desperate domestic purge. On April 30, 2026, the regime executed Sasan Azadvar, a 21-year-old karate champion from Isfahan. Sentenced by the notorious executioner judge Morteza Barati, Azadvar was severely tortured before his death. He was charged with attacking State Security Force (SSF) officers. The judiciary’s own account highlighted his bravery, detailing how he attacked an SSF minibus while oppressive forces were inside.

Just days prior, on April 25, the regime hanged another rebellious youth from Isfahan, Erfan Kiani. The ruling establishment also continues to ruthlessly target oppressed minorities, executing 18-year-old Baluch political prisoner Amer Ramesh in Zahedan Central Prison on April 26. Ultimately, these executions are not a sign of the regime’s power, but rather expose its profound weakness and absolute fear of an increasingly restive society.
Resistance units answer bloodshed with defiance
This unbridled bloodshed has not remained unanswered. Across the country, Resistance Units have proven that the Iranian youth do not fear the apparatus of repression. In Chabahar, a PMOI Resistance Unit member bravely chanted, “Viva the National Liberation Army. Salute to Rajavi. Down with the oppressor, be it the shah or the supreme leader,” before directly targeting an IRGC Basij base.

In Mashhad, where the three young protesters were recently hanged, Resistance Units launched multiple operations. They set fire to the entrance of an IRGC base, targeted an IRGC Basij base, and torched three separate propaganda posters featuring the eliminated regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei.
In Zahedan, the signpost of an IRGC Basij base was set alight. Furthermore, Resistance Units successfully torched large Khamenei propaganda posters in Dehdasht, Isfahan, and Kazerun, while units in Karaj targeted a regime center specifically used for promoting and expanding terrorism and fundamentalism. No amount of brutality can shield the ruling clerics from the inevitable force of the people’s rage or avert their ultimate downfall.
