PMOI Resistance Units mark the anniversary of Iran’s 2019 uprising

In a coordinated effort to honor Iran’s November 2019 uprising, PMOI Resistance Units carried out over 100 activities across the country. These actions were a tribute to the sacrifices made during the historic protests, reaffirming the opposition’s unyielding resolve against the regime. Activities included distributing leaflets, displaying images of resistance leaders with bold slogans, and hanging banners featuring Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), in prominent public spaces like bridges and walls. Despite heavy surveillance and significant risks, the Resistance Units succeeded in delivering a powerful message of defiance and hope for freedom and democracy.

In Tehran, the Resistance Units led with slogans that highlighted the spirit of rebellion, freedom, and the rejection of tyranny. Messages such as “Iran’s rebels will rise again” and “No to shah, no to mullahs” resonated strongly. Other declarations like “Our country will be freed” and “The tremors of overthrow threaten the regime” reflected both the determination of the resistance and the instability within the ruling establishment. These slogans underscored the Resistance Units’ collective will to dismantle oppression and build a democratic future.

In Shiraz, the Resistance Units emphasized decisive action, advocating that “The only path to freedom is resistance.” Their efforts reinforced the belief that a democratic revolution is the solution to decades of oppression. Similarly, in Mashhad, activists demanded justice for the victims of past atrocities, linking the sacrifices of previous generations to the ongoing struggle for justice and liberty. In Kashan, slogans condemned religious despotism, envisioning its end as part of the broader fight for freedom.

Smaller cities also reflected the revolutionary fervor of the Resistance Units. In Anzali, messages emphasized that “The regime understands only the language of power and decisiveness,” reinforcing the necessity of persistent resistance. In Karaj, the legacy of martyrs was central to the slogans, with declarations honoring their sacrifices and the enduring impact of their struggle. Meanwhile, in Rasht and Neka, activists highlighted the inevitability of the regime’s downfall and called on freedom-seekers to rise. In Zahedan, one of Iran’s most politically sensitive regions, activists delivered bold warnings to the regime’s leadership, signaling the people’s growing anger and determination to bring about change.

Across the country, cities like Shiraz, Anzali, Shahr-e Kord, Babol, and Bandar Abbas echoed themes of defiance, emphasizing the lessons learned from the November 2019 uprising: resistance must be met with strength and resolve. In major urban centers such as Tehran, Mashhad, Shiraz, and Tabriz, the slogan “Woman, Resistance, Freedom” emerged as a powerful symbol, highlighting the critical role of women in the ongoing fight for liberation. This slogan has become a beacon of hope and a call to action for a brighter, democratic future.

The Resistance Units also carried out nightly activities in honor of the fifth anniversary of the 2019 uprising. These activities included the display of symbolic images and inspiring slogans embodying the ongoing struggle and popular resistance for freedom.

In Mashhad, on Tabarsi Street, a large image was displayed bearing the slogan “Women, Resistance, Freedom,” emphasizing the prominent role of women in resisting the regime. On Shahid Street, a large display featured an image of Masoud Rajavi, the leader of the Iranian resistance. On Mohseni Street, a light image of Rajavi was placed with the slogan “The flame of the uprising will be ignited by the army of the poor,” symbolizing the people’s readiness to continue the uprising.

In Rasht, specifically on Talebi Street, an image of Maryam Rajavi carried the slogan “Generation of the 2019 uprising is the generation of rebellion and disobedience,” reflecting the continuation of resistance and the passing of the spirit of uprising to the new generation. In Bandar Anzali’s Parastar Park, a large image of Maryam Rajavi was placed next to a slogan affirming that the November uprising proved that the youth’s uprising is ongoing.

In Talesh, on 8 Shahrivar Street, an image of Masoud Rajavi bore the phrase “The revolutionaries create victory,” affirming that victory will belong to the revolutionaries. In Bandar Abbas’s Nawab neighborhood, an image of Masoud Rajavi was projected along with a message of resistance against the regime.

The Resistance Units demonstrated remarkable courage and coordination in executing these widespread operations under oppressive conditions. Their actions sent a strong message to the regime while rallying public support for the broader resistance movement. The banners, slogans, and leaflets served not only as tributes to past sacrifices but also as reminders of the necessity to continue the fight for justice and freedom.
