Iran: MEK Resistance Units honor of victims of police brutality

Reporting by PMOI/MEK

Iran, November 8, 2020—Iranians consider November 15 as a national and lasting day in Iran's history, marking the anniversary of nationwide anti-regime protests in November 2019, during which security forces slaughtered more than 1,500 demonstrators.

In recent days and weeks, images and pictures of the protesters fallen for freedom were installed and posted on the walls of various cities across the country.

On this occasion, in recent days, Resistance Units, a network of activists supporting the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), organized a series of anti-regime activities and campaigns to mark the first anniversary of the uprising.

In Tehran, the Resistance Units installed posters of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) Maryam Rajavi. This is while the regime is especially harsh toward the MEK and have already executed more than 120,000 supporters and members of the Iranian Resistance.

Despite the intensified atmosphere of repression, the Resistance Units installed pictures of the Iran 2019 protests martyrs in cities such as Tehran, Shiraz, Mashhad, Shahr-e Quds, Behbahab, Karaj, Roudehen, and Masjed Soleiman.

They also took to graffiti and wrote anti-regime slogans such as:

“Khamenei and Rouhani must face justice for crimes against humanity”

“Down with Khamenei, hail to Rajavi”

“Rise up to overthrow the regime of the Supreme Leader”

“We must rise to take back our legitimate rights”

“The suppressive centers will be destroyed”

“The Iranian people have decided to disband the IRGC and Basij”

“The destiny of Iran will be written by the brave and rebellious people of Iran.”

These slogans echo the voice of the Iranian people during November 2019 protests and echo their desire and will to overthrow the clerical regime.

Iranian society, fire under the ashes

The Iranian regime is constantly facing a dissatisfied and outraged society that is fed up with the mullahs’ establishment. This is evident in many cities, where images, banners, and posters of regime officials are torn down or torched, and the suppressive centers responsible for the constant oppression against women and youths are targeted.

In one instance, the rebellious youth in Karaj targeted the office of Mohammad Mehdi Hosseini Hamedani, the representative of Khamenei and Friday prayer Imam in Karaj on Saturday, November 7. During November 2019 protests Hosseini Hamedani praised the Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) for suppressing and killing the protesters.

Also, two of the regime’s suppressive centers in Isfahan and Kazerun were targeted and torched on Thursday, November 5. The rebellious youths in Isfahan targeted a regime center for inquisition against youths and in Kazeroun a regime’s so-called Foundation of Martyrs.

The regime uses these headquarters to spy on locals and enforce the mullahs’ outdated teachings but also to fund its terrorist proxy groups in the region.
