While Iran’s tyrannical regime attempts to silence and subdue society through escalating executions and a climate of fear, PMOI Resistance Units carried out dozens of anti-regime activities across Iranian cities on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, turning the new year into a year of defying oppression.
Chanting slogans such as “Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or mullahs” and “On Sizdah Be-dar, Dictator Get Out,” they demonstrated at historical and cultural sites including Tus, Hafezieh, and Persepolis, as well as in the cities of Mashhad, Shiraz, Ardabil, Izeh, Tabriz, Zahedan, Isfahan, Hamedan, Kermanshah, Karaj, Nowshahr, Khorramabad, Nahavand, Rasht, Sanandaj, Arak, Babolsar, Shahrekord, Dorud, and Qom. Symbolically referencing the Sizdah Be-dar tradition (the 13th day of Nowruz, when Iranians typically spend time outdoors to cast away bad luck), they declared they were casting out the ominous presence of the oppressive mullahs and the former Shah.

In their third, sixth, and tenth national campaigns marking Sizdah Be-dar, the Resistance Units conducted a total of 189 activities, welcoming the “Political and Social Nowruz of Iran.”
During the tenth campaign, Resistance Units carried out 74 anti-regime activities across 17 cities, spreading the message of the people’s democratic revolution during what they described as the “phase of determination and the people’s destiny.”
Resistance Units also conducted 50 anti-regime activities during the sixth Sizdah Be-dar campaign and 65 revolutionary actions during the third Sizdah Be-dar campaign in various cities, symbolically casting out the “bad luck” associated with the Shah and the Mullahs.

Some of the placards, banners, and graffiti that attracted attention in the cities of Tehran, Mashhad, Ahvaz, Abadan, Qazvin, Sari, Shahrekord, Khorramshahr, Anzali, Behshahr, Semnan, Sabzevar, Masjed Soleyman, Iranshahr, Isfahan, Shiraz, Kermanshah, Hamedan, Gorgan, Ilam, Kashan, Ardabil, Dezful, Lahijan, Karaj, Zahedan, Amol, Bandar Abbas, Rasht, Gorgan, Masuleh, Zanjan, Saqqez, Genaveh, and Saveh included the following messages:
- Those who rise up will create the Nowruz of freedom.
- The frequency, intensity, and speed of events in the stormy sea characterize the volatile revolutionary situation.
- The time for a great house cleaning in Iran has arrived.
- The political and social Nowruz of Iran will overthrow the winter of the Velayat-e Faqih (mullahs’ rule).
- It is an era of change; this regime will be overthrown by the National Liberation Army of Iran and the Resistance Units.
- Nowruz will triumph through rebellion, uprising, and your fighting spirit.
- The only path to liberation is armed struggle and overthrow.
- The head of the snake of mullahs’ regime was hit hard in Syria and Lebanon; now it must be crushed in Iran.
