Since mid-September, truckers in Iran have gone on strike in protest to diminishing wages and increasing prices. This is the fourth time that Iran’s truck drivers are going on strike in the past year. The Iranian regime has failed to meet the demands of the truck drivers and has instead tried to intimidate them by hiring drivers from neighboring countries and by threatening to arrest, prosecute and possibly execute them.
But the truckers of Iran are not backing down from their demands and continue their strikes in spite of the Iranian regime’s efforts. And like the ongoing protests across Iran, the truck drivers are becoming more resolute and organized with every passing day.
It should be noted that to this date (October 6, 2018) the number of cities in which truck drivers have gone on strike have surpassed 300 mark.
