Over 50,700 dead of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Iran
While the novel coronavirus is taking more lives with each passing day and hospitals in many parts of Iran have no room to accept new patients, Iranian regime President Hassan Rouhani continued his lies on Wednesday, June 10. “Other than a few provinces we have reached the point of containing COVID-19. Of course, there is an increased effort in these provinces to bring an end to their ‘code red’ status,” he said according to the regime’s official IRNA news agency.
“There are new tests today and it naturally results in the registration of more new COVID-19 cases. This is not a negative issue and the people should not be concerned because when we sooner identify those who are ill, they will not be in need of hospitalization,” Rouhani added in his attempt to justify the recent alarming rise in new coronavirus cases across Iran.
“In my communications with leaders of other countries, some of them are asking us to be exporting hygiene products, and of course we are doing so,” he claimed while millions of people across the country are in grave danger as they lack such basic supplies.

“Unfortunately, the number of new cases and deaths have increased. Prior to this, we had 30 to 34 deaths but now this has once again increased to 65 to 70 deaths each day,” mullahs’ Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli said on Tuesday, according to IRNA.
“The trend of new cases and hospitalized people has increased in Tehran during the past week… In the Masih Daneshvari Hospital, we usually had 250 patients during the peak periods back between February and April. These numbers reached around 70 in May. Unfortunately, these numbers have now increased to 180 cases,” said Payam Tabaresi, an infectious diseases specialist in Tehran’s Masih Daneshvari Hospital, according to a report wired on Wednesday by the state-run ISNA news agency.
“Naturally, an increase in the number of people being hospitalized will lead to a rise in the number of deaths in the coming weeks… If the result of canceling quarantine measures is an increasing number of deaths, there must be a reevaluation of these actions,” said the head of the New Illnesses Research Center in Tehran’s Pasteur Institute, according to a report published on Wednesday by the state-run Khabar Online website.
In Isfahan, deputy dean of the local Medical Sciences University said the number of people dying of COVID-19 is increasing, saying 1,484 people have died in Isfahan province, other than the city of Kashan and its related areas. “During the past two days, we have witnessed an increase of more than 400 new cases in Isfahan and this is not taking into consideration the city of Kashan and its surrounding areas. Of the individuals contracting the novel coronavirus in Isfahan, 9.5 percent have lost their lives. Currently, between 50 and 70 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized each day. As we speak there are 426 coronavirus patients, hospitalized,” he said on Wednesday, according to a report wired by the state-run IMNA news agency.
In Kashan, Aran, and Bidgol, three counties that are out of the jurisdiction of Isfahan Medical Sciences University, the number of coronavirus deaths is definitely above 900. Private hospitals and military hospitals that are not covered by the university have not been accounted for in this roundup.
According to IRIB, the official broadcaster of the Iranian regime, the president of the Medical Sciences University of Shiraz, Fars Province, said, “In the past 24 hours, the number of new COVID-19 cases in Fars province has more than doubled… not only is the epidemic not on a decline, but on the contrary, it has seen a growing trend.”
