Iran coronavirus update: Over 471,900 deaths, schools reopen as number of “red” cities rise

Iran, November 7, 2021—Over 471,900 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Sunday afternoon local time, November 7. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 127,299, around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 110,705 in Tehran, 38,570 in Razavi Khorasan, 32,200 in Isfahan, 28,860 in Khuzestan, 16,358 in East Azerbaijan, 15,660 in Lorestan, 13,903 in Alborz, 8783 in Hamedna, 8739 in Kermanshah, 7642 in Kurdistan, and 3605 in Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Sunday as 126 deaths and 7554 new cases. Furthermore, 3687 patients are in ICUs and 1078 of the new cases have been hospitalized.

“The provinces of Sistan & Baluchistan, Qazvin, Semnan, and Yazd have had a concerning increasing trend in the past two weeks. I cannot even imagine schools reopening in cities registered as red zones. Right now, once again we have 33 red cities. In some areas we are seeing an increasing number of new Covid-19 cases, and that is why the number of red cities has increased,” said head of the Health Ministry’s Statistics Department on Sunday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“The numbers of people being hospitalized and daily deaths due to coronavirus has been increasing in some provinces during the past week, marking the 89th week of this pandemic. These areas have gone even beyond the national average. This can be an alarm bell signaling the country’s entrance in the sixth peak,” according to a report wired Sunday by the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“In comparison to 2019 the number of deceased individuals that have been buried in the Behesht-e Sakine Cemetery has increased by 60 percent following the spread of coronavirus,” said the head of cemeteries in the municipality of Karaj in Alborz province on Sunday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“This week the number of coronavirus cases increased by 42 percent in the city of Behbahan, 47 percent in Hendijan, 12 percent in Ramhormoz, 59 percent in Izeh, 34 percent in Masjid Soleiman, 68 percent in Haftkal, 17 percent in Azadegan, 36 percent in Karun, and 156 percent in Gatvand,” according to a report wired on Sunday by the Jondi Shapur Medical Sciences University in Ahvaz of Khuzestna province.

“During the past 24 hours the number of people being hospitalized per day has gone beyond the number of people being discharged. The coronavirus situation in Ardabil is described as a crisis,” said the dean of Ardabil Medical Sciences University on Sunday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

In Yazd province the number of people being hospitalized has increased for the second consecutive week, with the stats being significant this week. The number of deaths has also escalated. The provincial stats for hospitalization and deaths have gone beyond the national average, according to a report wired Sunday by the semi-official ISNA news agency.
