Considering the increasing number of new cases, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday: “Conditions are fragile in many parts of the country. “There are signs of the sixth peak possibly beginning across the country. The number of Covid-19 patients entering our hospitals is high, and so is relatively the number of people dying of this illness,” said a member of the National Covid-19 Task Force on Wednesday. “Currently there are signs of the illness increasing in some western province and another of other provinces. Some of the cities have been registered as red zones and their numbers are increasing. This is a sign that there needs to be close attention to this subject. In such circumstances reopening schools, universities and other centers can be very, very dangerous,” this official continued, according to the state-run Salamat News outlet.

“We made a mistake to have trusted the [indigenous] Barekat vaccine. This vaccine was supposed to produce 50 million doses by October 23. They failed and we are being questioned in this regard,” said Hossein Vatanpour, advisor to the regime’s health minister on Wednesday. “There were numerous messages of support for [the Barekat] vaccine, and they promised, and we trusted their words that vaccination needs to take place with the indigenous vaccine…! And afterwards we saw foreign vaccines being imported in large numbers,” according to the state-run Arman-e Melli daily.

“Despite the fact that around 35,000 people were ready to be hired as nurses from March 20 onward, to this day they have yet to be entered into the workforce. When nurses are not hired, they resort to migrating abroad. There are no exact stats of nurses migrating abroad. However, nearly 5,000 nurses migrated during this pandemic. This is a high number as our country is engaged with this illness,” said a senior member of the Tehran Nurses Apparatus on Wednesday, according to the state-run Borna outlet.

“The number of coronavirus patients hospitalized continues to increase. Mazandaran province is getting closer and closer to the sixth peak. Of the 418 patients hospitalized 75 are in ICUs,” according to a statement released on Wednesday by the Mazandaran Medical Sciences University.

“The number of people being hospitalized for coronavirus remains high. We currently have 464 patients hospitalized, of which 87 are in ICUs,” said the spokesperson of Yazd Medical Sciences University on Wednesday.

“As we speak the cities of Sabzevar, Sheshtomad, Khalil-abad, and Kashmar are red zones while prior to this there were only two red zone cities in Razavi Khorasan province,” according to a report wired on Wednesday by the regime's official IRNA news agency.
