Reporting by PMOI/MEK

Iran, July 6, 2021—Over 323,800 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Tuesday afternoon local time, July 6. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 85,095, around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 75,666 in Tehran, 21,890 in Isfahan, 20,531 in Khuzestan, 19,725 in Razavi Khorasan, 12,670 in Lorestan, 12,003 in West Azerbaijan, 10,912 in Fars, 8051 in Sistan & Baluchistan, 7650 in Golestan, 7513 in Kerman, 4935 in Hormozgan, and 3970 in Ardabil. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Monday as 146 deaths and 16,080 new cases, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency. Furthermore, 3296 patients are in ICUs and 1733 of the new cases have been hospitalized.

“We have 120 red zone cities, 182 orange, and 146 yellow. There are no blue cities,” the Health Ministry announced in a statement on Tuesday. This is the highest number of red zone cities in the past two months.

“In some areas of the country the numbers of people seeking initial medical care for coronavirus and those being hospitalized are on the rise. During the next few days, the number of red cities will increase,” said Deputy Health Minister Ghasem Jan-Babaie on Tuesday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“After 18 months still the government’s policies, especially those of the president that chairs the National Covid-19 Task Force, are not based on a certain pillars. With just one camera they go to two medical centers or show vaccines being injected, and then claim all is well. However, the truth in the streets is that many of our dear people are tired and disappointed, and there is no certain plan for the measures that are taken,” said Mojtaba Yousefi, a member of the regime’s Majlis (parliament) from the city of Ahvaz in southwest Iran, on Tuesday, according to the semi-official ILNA news agency.

“During the past two weeks we have seen a 24.4 percent rise in the number of people seeking initial medical care, and a 13.5 percent increase in the number of fatalities. The more we delay general vaccination, the more deaths we will see,” said Alireza Zali, head of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force on Tuesday. “The small percentage that have been vaccinated has made controlling the illness extremely difficult. In our neighboring countries they have reached a significant percentage in vaccination, and we are left far behind. Our main concern should be vaccine production. Domestic vaccines do not provide for our needs, and their needs to be imports of vaccines,” he added, according to the Javan daily, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).

“The delta variant has entered Tehran and seen in Tehran residents. The most important solution is vaccination and this needs to gain pace,” said Nader Tavakoli, deputy chair of the National Covid-19 Task Force on Tuesday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“The number of new cases in the two previous waves was between 300 to 400 per day. During this wave, however, we are witnessing 1500 new cases per day, meaning five times more positive cases,” according to a statement released by Zahedan Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“Any catastrophe that you hear about Sistan & Baluchistan should not be denied. Conditions in this province are truly worse than what is being said. From the city of Jask to Rask, nearly one million people have only 200 to 300 hospitals beds,” said Moien’edin Saeedi, a Majlis member from the city of Chabahar, on Tuesday. “The two cities in my jurisdiction do not have any hospitals, and people have to drive 150 kilometers to take their ill to a hospital. There are no more Covid-19 test kits in this province and many of the people in rural areas are dying of coronavirus without anyone knowing,” he added, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“During the past two days alone the number of coronavirus patients have increased by 150 percent in Mehriz Hospital alone,” said the head of the Fatemeh Al Zahra Hospital in Yazd province, according to the Mehr news agency.

“During the past 24 hours 183 patients have been hospitalized while only 141 have been released,” said the spokesperson of Isfahan Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the Mehr news agency.
