Regime President Hassan Rouhani resorted to more lies today as he is extremely concerned about public anger over the coronavirus vaccine delays. “We placed a request with COVAX on day one. Then when we sought to deposit the money, we had some problems due to U.S. sanctions. Therefore, instead of receiving the vaccine in March, we are receiving it in mid to late April,” he said on Wednesday.

It is worth noting that Rouhani said the following on January 13: “The government has raised the vaccine request issue with COVAX, and we have transferred the money. Millions of vaccine doses have been purchased through this medium… Other than COVAX we have other vaccines available to us. The Central Bank said today in official remarks that there is no issue in providing and paying the money.”

One month ago, the World Health Organization said there is no legal barrier for Iran to purchase the coronavirus vaccine and the U.S. Treasury Department had issued an authorization for Covid-19 vaccine purchases, according to a December 9, 2020, report published by Bloomberg.

However, on January regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei banned American and British vaccines. On WHO-approved vaccines Khamenei added, “… there is no trust in these either… Of course, I am also not optimistic about France.”

The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Wednesday as 193 deaths and 20,956 new cases, 20 percent higher than the day before. “257 cities and towns, including all provincial capitals and major cities, are registered as red zones. 129 are orange, 51 are yellow and 11 are blue. The number of people being hospitalized is rising much faster than during the second and third waves. In the coming days we will witness an increase in the death toll,” the Health Ministry spokesperson said, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“In total 85 percent of our cities and towns are registered as red and orange zones. I used a phrase that we have gone from stairwell rises to elevator increases, and now the numbers are rising like a missile launch,” said Deputy Health Minister Iraj Harirchi on Wednesday. “It is forecasted that the daily death toll will reach 600. Yesterday we had 2400 people hospitalized. Nearly 15 percent will lose their lives, meaning we are leaning towards the 300 per day death toll,” he added, according to state TV.

“Currently the people have the lowest trust in the state. In November and prior to those events I had said that we had to provide smart cards, and food and hygiene baskets to the people. If we do not, we should expect riots by the poor. Right now, the threat is even higher but coronavirus is preventing such developments,” said Ahmad Tavakoli, a member of the regime’s Expediency Council on Wednesday, according to the state-run Farhikhtegan daily.

Payam Tabarsi, member of the Covid-19 Task Force scientific council, said on Wednesday, “As Tehran province has become a red zone, we are forced to shut down, and shutting down the city will cause great damage to the country’s economy and the people. But health is more important. When a new wave starts, it lasts two months, and we can reduce the wave’s amplitude with some precautions, but we can’t cause any change in the wave itself. Hospitals and ICU sections will be full for at least two months and the death toll will rise.” (Source: Mehr News Agency)

The manager of the health center of Isfahan province said on Wednesday, “The death of Covid patients has tripled in comparison to previous months, and the number of cases has increased fivefold. The spread of the virus has continued to increase and it will not flatten in the next two weeks.” (Source: IRNA news agency)

According to a report by Mehr News Agency on Wednesday, in Kohgilyeh and Boyer Ahmad province, the number of red zone continues to increase by the moment and “one of the most catastrophic situations might develop whose end reeks of death.” Mehr quoted the dean of Yasuj Medical Sciences University as saying, “The hospitals will soon be filled with coronavirus patients and compounded with deprivation and the lack of infrastructure, every day, [the virus] will claim the lives of tens of people of the province.”

The deputy governor of Ardebil province said on Wednesday, “The number of incoming patients to the province’s health centers has quadrupled and the number of hospitalized patients has doubled in comparison to March. We will be facing more difficult conditions in the coming days.” (Source: Mehr News Agency)

In Fars province, Mehr News Agency reported on Wednesday that 22 counties are red zones and the rest are orange. Mehr quoted the dean of Fars Medical Sciences University as saying that 2,000 new cases were identified in a single day and the capacity of coronavirus hospitals have become full.
