“Currently we are engulfed with the mutated strain of Covid-19… Last night we received 49 test samples from one province, of which 29 were the mutated strain,” said Health Minister Saied Namaki on Monday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“The number of people seeking medical care in various centers has doubled in comparison to last year,” said head of Iran’s Health Emergency Department on Monday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“We are facing an increase in the number of people hospitalized in comparison to four weeks ago, reaching a rise of 100 percent,” said the head of the Bushehr Covid-19 Task Force in southern Iran on Monday, according to the state-run Hamshahri daily.

“The number of new cases in the cities of Abdanan, Ivan, Cherdaval and Dehloran are on the rise. There is a possibility that the cities of Abdanan, Ivan and Cherdaval wilil be designated as orange zone areas, and for Dehloran to be registered as a red zone area,” said the deputy dean of Ilam Medical Sciences University on Monday, according to the Mehr news agency.

“We are seeing an increase in the number of new cases in several cities of [East Azerbaijan] province, and the speed of this increasing trend is above the country’s average,” said the deputy dean of East Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Monday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“Aside from the Kashan area, in the past 24 hours 1448 patients with Covid-19 symptoms have sought medical treatment in centers covered by our university,” said the spokesperson of the Isfahan Medical Sciences University on Sunday. “Eighty-eight patients are hospitalized. Furthermore, in the past 24 hours 55 patients have been released from our medical centers,” this official added.

“Currently we have 207 coronavirus patients hospitalized, of which 52 are in ICUs and 25 are under ventilators,” said the director of public relations in Golestan Medical Sciences University on Monday, according to the semi-official ILNA news agency.

“During the past 24 hours 67 coronavirus patients have been hospitalized, meaning around one patient per hour,” said the dean of Kermanshah Medical Sciences University on Monday. “This increase has placed the number of Covid-19 patients at 177, indicating a 34 patient rise in comparison to the day before,” this official added, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency. Referring to the number of positive Covid-19 tests tripling this official added, “The more the number of patients with positive Covid-19 tests increase, in a short while the number of people being hospitalized will also increase.”

“The number of people seeking medical care for Covid-19 symptoms and the number of positive tests have increased in comparison to previous days. This indicates the spread of Covid-19 has escalated and we are extremely concerned about the increase in the number of patients,” said the dean of Zanjan Medical Sciences University on Monday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.
