German “Free Iran” committee welcomes arrest warrant for Tehran’s diplomat

Report By PMOI/MEK

July 19, 2018 – The German Solidarity Committee for a Free Iran (GSCFI), consisting of Members of the Bundestag and state parliaments, strongly supported and welcomed a decision by the German federal prosecutors office in the city of Karlsruhe on the case involving Assadollah Assadi, the Iranian regime diplomat terrorist involved in a bomb plot targeting the recent Iranian opposition convention in Paris, and a coinciding order for his arrest.

“This criminal state mission of conspiracy to murder members of the Iranian opposition, who were peacefully gathering in Paris along with their high-profile supporters, is a dossier that Europe’s judiciary must become involved in, get to the source of and punish those involved in this crime,” the statement reads.

“On July 1st, Assadi was arrested near the town of Aschaffenburg based on an arrest warrant issued by Belgian authorities. He must have missioned a couple living in Antwerp to carry out an explosion aimed at targeting an annual “Free Iran” rally of Iranian dissidents in Paris. This attack, however, was foiled thanks to the awareness of relevant authorities.

“Through an investigative judge in the country’s supreme court, on July 6th German federal prosecutors obtained an arrest warrant for Assad for his actions as an Iranian regime secret service agent and for conspiracy to commit murder.

“More importantly, now political institutions are condemning this planned targeting. The German federal government must gain knowledge of the entire scope of this planned attack. Through this measure, Tehran has violated the agreement following the 1992 Mykonos restaurant murder case in Berlin binding this regime to not carry out assassinations on European soil. In the recent incident the murder of a large number of people was planned.

“We call for this assassination attempt to be condemned by the German federal government and the European Union representative in foreign affairs to send a clear signal to the terrorist regime ruling Tehran.”

Analysts are saying such measures by the Iranian regime are signs of the mullahs addressing the sole source of their concerns.

Tehran is vividly acknowledging the fact that this Iranian opposition coalition, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and its cornerstone member, the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), is the one and only viable alternative that can actually realize regime change in Iran and guarantee a smooth transition of power to the people based on their pre-planned agenda.
