Resistance Units celebrate MEK founding anniversary, commemorate martyrs

Iran, September 5, 2021—September 6 marks the 56th anniversary of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), an organization dedicated to liberating Iran from tyranny and dictatorship, an organization that has fought two dictatorships of the Shah and the mullahs, an organization that has not relented in its struggle despite having lost more than 120,000 of its members and sympathizers to the brutality of the regime.

In recent years, despite the regime’s widespread efforts to demonize the MEK, the organization’s network inside Iran, known as the Resistance Units, has expanded and played a major role in leading and organizing nationwide protests such as December 2017, November 2019 and January 2020.

As the founding anniversary of the MEK draws near, the Resistance Units celebrated the occasion through their activities. This is while any activity for the MEK in Iran is heavily punished. The Resistance Units risk their lives to carry out activities in support of the MEK in Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, Tabriz, Mashhad, Ahvaz, Karaj, Saveh, Hamadan, Sari, Gorgan, Anzali, Babolsar, Tonekabon, Ramsar, Rudsar, Sarab, West Gilan, Robat Karim, Shahriar, Varamin, Ardakan, Fouladshahr, Yazdanshahr, Sanandaj, Noshahr, Andimeshk, Ilam, Eslamshahr (Tehran), Qazvin, and Shahrekord

“Hail to the MEK, down with Khamenei and Raisi.”

The Resistance Units echoed the slogan, “We celebrate the 57th MEK foundation anniversary, we the members of the Resistance Units are ready for the uprising to overthrow the regime.” And in many other places, while holding the MEK emblem they bravely chanted Hail to the MEK, down with Khamenei and Raisi.”

Also during the last week, the Resistance Units, commemorated September 1, 2013 attack against the last 100 MEK members in Camp Ashraf, were 52 residents were killed in cold blood and seven were taken hostage.

In various places of Tehran, the Resistance Units installed images of the 52 martyrs and pledged to continue their path to liberate Iran and overthrow the mullahs’ regime. Also, in other cities such as Karaj, Esfarayen, Mashhahd, Shiraz, Isfahan, Nishabur, Lahijan, Gorgan, Arak, Qom, Hamadan, and Gorgan, the Resistance Units commemorated the 52 martyrs of Camp Ashraf massacre on September 1.
