MEK Resistance Units announces support for online “Free Iran Global Summit”

Reporting by PMOI/MEK

Iran, July 15, 2020—With two days left to the annual gathering of the Iranian Resistance, the “Free Iran Global Summit: Iran Rising Up for Freedom: MEK Resistance Units Are the Key to Regime Change in Iran” which will be held online on July 17, activists inside Iran are showing their support for this important event.

The gathering will be held in Ashraf 3, home to 3,000 members of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Albania, and will be joined online by people from 30,000 locations in Iran and 100 countries around the world, including 1,000 renowned politicians, dignitaries, human rights activists, and parliamentarians from the US and Europe.

From Saturday July 11 to Tuesday July 14, the Resistance Units, an internal network of the MEK, organized activities, announcing their support for the annual gathering of the Iranian Resistance in cities such as Tehran, Isfahan, Tabriz, Ardabil, Shiraz, Karaj, Kerman, Abadan, Lahijan, Rasht, Zahedan, Khorramabad, Khorramshahr, Noshahr, Kashan, Yazd, Fars Province, Arak, Qazvin, Rudsar, Islamabad, Khorasan Razavi, Ahvaz, Shahr-e Quds, Chalus, Meshkin Shahr, Marivan, Shahin Shahr (University of Payam Nour), Kermanshah, Arak, Varamin, Jiroft, and Gorgan.

The Resistance Units bravely took to graffiti in public places and sent personal messages in support of Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and the Free Iran gathering 2020. Their activities and personal messages express the Iranian people’s determination to overthrow the mullahs’ regime and desire for a free and democratic Iran.

Their slogans read:

“Down with Khamenei, hail to freedom, we are ready to overthrow the regime”

“No to forced hijab and forced religion and forced government”

“Down with the principle of the Supreme Leader’s rule”

“Democracy and freedom with Maryam Rajavi, down with Khamenei, hail to Rajavi”

“Maryam Iran, Iran Maryam”

Personal messages from Iran, country’s thirsts for freedom

Many said in their personal messages: “Dear Maryam, we are waiting for you to return” and “Iran Maryam, Maryam Iran” and “Maryam Rajavi is the symbol of a free Iran”

A person from Tabriz loudly said: “I salute Maryam Rajavi, the whole Iranian nation is waiting for you, hail to Massoud (Rajavi), victory is ours, down with (Ali) Khamenei and (Hassan) Rouhani.”

A youth from Tehran commemorated the 1,500 martyrs of the November 2019 nationwide uprising that where killed by the IRGC Basij forces and said, “We can, and we must, free Iran. Hail to all the martyrs of the Iranian Resistance, especially the martyrs of the November 2019 nationwide uprising. We renew our commitment for the overthrow of the mullahs. With Maryam Rajavi, we will overthrow this regime.”

Also on July 12, a four-meter-long banner of Maryam Rajavi was installed at the gate of Shahin Shahr (University of Payam Nour) with the slogan: “The blood of 1,500 martyrs of the November 2019 nationwide uprising has increased the Iranian people’s determination of uprising and revolt for freedom.”

Public outrage against mullahs’ suppressive centers

During the same days, the young and rebellious generation of Iran torched suppressive centers of the mullahs’ regime in different cities. The targets included a center of spread of fundamentalism in Tehran.

The defiant youth also targeted a building of the regime’s Judiciary in Joghatai County in Khorasan Razavi province.

The mullahs’ regime Judiciary is headed by Ebrahim Raisi, known for his pivotal role in the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in 1988, mostly members of the MEK. Raisi is also caretaker of the Astan-e-Quds-e-Razavi charity foundation and a member of the Assembly of Experts. In the past weeks, the judiciary has ramped up suppression by carrying out many executions and arresting activists and families of MEK members.

An IRGC Basij base in Tehran was also torched by the defiant youth. Basij is the most hated suppressive paramilitary force and a subsidiary of the terrorist designated IRGC that is used to crack down on protests and demonstrations such as the November nationwide uprising.
