Reporting by PMOI/MEK

Iran, August 12, 2020—Despite a widespread campaign of demonization against the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and cyber-attacks against the MEK’s official website, the Iranian regime has failed to prevent the expansion of MEK Resistance Units inside Iran. The Resistance Units’ activities have continued incessantly despite the wave of arrests and clampdown.

The persistent and tireless struggles the selfless risk-taking of the Resistance Units have had a very positive impact on the continued protests of the Iranian people for their most basic rights. The Resistance Units are a determining force that is willing to pay the price to restore the national sovereignty of the Iranian people.

As various regime officials have acknowledged, the Resistance Units played a leading role in organizing and expanding of the nationwide uprisings of December 2017 and November 2019 and the continuity of their activities is a boost of hope against the regime’s every effort to prevent the emergence of a new round of uprisings.

“We will neither forgive nor forget the 1988 massacre of political prisoners”

“The blood of the martyrs of the 1988 massacre gives rise to uprisings in Iran”

“The mullahs’ virus has no result but mass murder”

“Hail to the martyrs and hail to freedom”

An explosive society

On Sunday, August 9, Iran’s defiant youth targeted 11 suppressive centers of the regime in various cities.

Six Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) Basij centers in Tehran, Bumehen, Zahedan, Sonqor and a police command sign in Parsian in Hormozgan were torched by the rebellious and defiant youths. Basij is the most hated suppressive paramilitary force and a subsidiary of the terrorist-designated IRGC, used to crack down on protests and demonstrations such as the November 2019 nationwide uprising.

Two buildings belonging to “Khomeini Relief Foundation” and “Zakat Council” in Zahedan were torched by the youths. These institutions are used by the mullahs as instruments to suppress the Iranian people and plunder their wealth, and they are much hated.

Also, the rebellious youths burned images and posters of regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and terror master Qassem Soleimani in Mashhad, Gorgan and Shahr-e Rey. Soliemani was the commander of the IRGC Quds Force and head of the mullahs’ extraterritorial terrorist attacks and was killed in Iraq on January 3 by a U.S. drone airstrike. Soleimani specifically supervised attacks against the PMOI/MEK during the years of their stay in Iraq.

These acts are a reflection of an upset society, as many experts close to the regime have warned.

Rebellious Youth Target Iranian Regime's Looting Centers

Although they created a bloodbath during the uprising in November 2019, Iran’s rulers were not able to extinguish the flames of the uprising. Many regime officials have warned repeatedly about the explosive situation of the Iranian society.

Some state-run media have characterized the current situation of the Iranian society as “dissatisfaction nitrate” that explode any minute and destroy everything, a reference to the August 4 explosion that devastated Beirut, the Lebanese capital.

The state-run website Asr-e Iran wrote on August 11: “The stored explosive ammonium nitrate in customs of Beirut had been stockpiled in the warehouse 12 for years… They had totally forgotten that a 2,750-ton bomb was close to them and neglected the issue. This is our current situation: the big stored explosive that exists in Iran and can explode any minute and burn everything to ashes is ‘dissatisfaction nitrate.’”

Asr-e Iran also wrote that this situation is no secret to anyone and every single person in the society and regime authorities are well aware that the Iranian people are at the peak of their dissatisfaction in recent decades and concluded: “The establishment is at a historic point and the logic solution is to turn the dissatisfied to satisfied and supporters. Otherwise, the ‘dissatisfaction nitrate’ could explode any minute and turn in what we are not waiting for.”
