Resistance Units expand activities inside Iran as regime’s fear of MEK grows

Reporting by PMOI/MEK

Iran, May 19, 2020—Members of the Iranian Resistance Units, a network of People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) continued their activities across the country throughout the week, despite increased oppressive measure by the regime and an intensifying coronavirus crisis.

According to reports tallied by the internal network of the MEK, over 42,600 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 319 cities, and the main victims are the weakest and most deprived classes of the society.

At the same time, political and economic experts of the regime are constantly asking the question: To what extent the Iranian society can tolerate this? Many warn that the society has reached its threshold and an uprising at the scale of the December 2017 and November 2019 unrests—or maybe bigger—is looming on the horizon.

While the mullahs try to use the crisis as a tool against the collapse of their regime at the price of many human lives, the Iranian Resistance is poised to prevent the regime from making the coronavirus outbreak another excuse to continue its rule.

The MEK Resistance Units offer a breakthrough and are a beacon for uprising and freedom. They represent the rebellious and defiant generation and play a key role in nationwide uprisings of December 2017 and November 2019. These selfless, determined, and spirited men and women believe that the Iranian people’s fight against coronavirus is part of their fateful resistance against the mullahs’ regime and the inhuman clerical regime, and their mission is to establish freedom, democracy and popular sovereignty in Iran.

In previous days, members of the Iranian Resistance Units in cities such as Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, Mashhad, Rasht, Hamedan, Ahwaz, Gilan, Shahr-e Kord, Karaj, Qazvin, Khorramabad, Robat Karim, Bandar Abbas, Semnan, and Fuman have been posting banners and taking to graffiti in public areas, writing messages of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and Maryam Rajavi, President of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).

On Sunday, May 17, the rebellious and brave youth of Isfahan torched a building belonging to the Martyrs Foundation, a regime-owned organization that loots the Iranian people’s wealth. They also set fire to an Basij base while chanting that Basij bases must be destroyed. Basij, a subsidiary of the terrorist-designated Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), is the Iranian regime’s paramilitary force and the most hated suppressive group that is used to crack down on protests and demonstrations such as the November nationwide uprising.

From May 14 to May 17, members of the Resistance Units in Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, Rasht, Hamedan, Ahwaz, Gilan, Karaj, Qazvin, Khorramabad, Gorgan, Mashhad, Robat Karim, Bandar Abbas, Fuman, Shahr-e Kork, Hamedan, Semnan installed posters and handwritten slogans of the Iranian Resistance leaders on walls in public places. Trying to break regime’s suppressive measures. Their banners read:

“Coronavirus outbreak is the guilt of the Iranian regime and mullahs.”

“Free political prisoners”

“It is time to rise up, to rebel and rise up and break the prison chains”

“The generation of Iran will not give up to the coronavirus caused by the supreme leader and will not accept silence.”

“Down with Khamenei, Hail to Rajavi”

“Khamenei’s rule will be overthrown.”

These slogans are foil the mullahs’ efforts to sow the seeds of hopelessness and passivity among the Iranian youth and population. The Resistance Units help keep the flame of the uprisings alit and give heart to millions of oppressed Iranians who yearn for freedom and democracy.

As, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Iran said in her new year’s remarks “there is a single solution for Coronavirus, for poverty, for oppression and tyranny. That solution is overthrowing the mullahs’ religious dictatorship in its entirety.”
