Resistance Units: Regime change will bring freedom and democracy in Iran

Reporting by PMOI/MEK

Iran, May 03, 2020—The Iranian regime’s ill-fated decision to cancel quarantines in Tehran and other provinces has set Iran on the course of another coronavirus disaster. The regime’s solution for confronting COVID-19 is to let it loose in the society and let it run its course. On Saturday, May 2, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) over 38,300 people had died of the novel coronavirus in 309 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces.

Recently, one of the regime’s internal opponents revealed that Rouhani said somewhere, “If two million people die from coronavirus is better than 30 million hungry people who will come to the street.”

Khamenei emphasized that “the disaster will be a blessing, and the threat will be an opportunity”, which means he tries to use the pandemic as a tool to consolidate power and prevent the collapse of his regime at the price of many human lives. Therefore, the Iranian Resistance is determined to turn the situation against the regime since the Iranian people’s fight against coronavirus is part of their fateful resistance against Khamenei and the inhuman clerical regime.

In recent days, the Iranian Resistance Units, a network of MEK activists across Iran, have been organizing various activities highlighting the solution for Iran which is the overthrow of the mullahs' rule. They took to graffiti in public places writing messages of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and NCRI President Maryam Rajavi. The selfless men and women of the Resistance Units have revolted against this pandemic disease amid the Iranian nation’s fateful struggle against the ruling theocracy. The MEK Resistance Units are rapidly multiplying and carrying out hundreds of activities against the regime’s repressive institutes, spearheading uprisings and acting as a beacon for rebellion against the rule of the mullahs.

On Saturday, May 2, the defiant and rebellious youth in Shiraz, Shahr-e Kord, and Mashhad, torched an IRGC Basij Base, a religious propaganda center for the spread of Sharia Law and images of Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and Qassem Soleimani, two terrorist masterminds killed by a U.S. drone attack last January. The Basij, a subsidiary of the terrorist designated IRGC, is a force detested by the Iranian people for its role in cracking down on protests and demonstrations such as the November nationwide uprising.

On Friday, May 1, on the anniversary of International Workers Day, Resistance units in Isfahan, Tehran, Karaj, Qom, Saveh, Nishbur, Rasht, and Ahwaz, celebrated the International Workers Day and said: “Workers and teachers take note, the MEK supports and your struggle.” Their banners and handwritten slogans read: “The cry of every Iranian worker is down with Khamenei & Rouhani,” “The cry of our workers who say we are hungry is a great disgrace for the mullahs,” and "down with the oppressor Supreme leader."

Similar activities to support poor Iranian workers and their struggle for equal rights was carried out on April 30 and 29 by the MEK Resistance Units in Mashhad, Tehran, Damavand, Shahriar, Isfahan, Ghaemshahr, Kermanshah, Qazvin, Arak, Karaj, Fardis, Kashan, Urmia, Semnan, Rafsanjan, Babolsar, Islamshahr, Behbahan, Andimeshk, Sistan and Baluchestan, Hamedan, Qom, Mahshahr, and Khoramshahr.

They emphasized in their slogans that the only solution for the coronavirus, poverty, oppression, and tyranny is overthrowing the mullahs’ religious dictatorship in its entirety. They said in their slogans that “It is not possible to realize the rights of Iranian workers without changing the regime.”
