Iran’s rebellious youth burn Khamenei’s effigy in Tehran

Reporting by PMOI/MEK

Iran, February 29, 2020—The latest disasters in Iran such as flashfloods in 14 provinces, coronavirus outbreak across Iran,  earthquakes in northwest and south-central Iran, and a locust invasion in the country’s southern provinces have brought further suffering to the Iranian people. Meanwhile, the regime tries to hide its inaction and secrecy on these events. The regime’s crimes in this regard have further pushed the rebellious youth of Iran to reflect the will and desire of the Iranian people to overthrow the rule of the mullahs and live in freedom.

On February 23, the rebellious youth burned an effigy of Iranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei in Tehran’s Niyayesh Highway and also pulled down the signs of the so-called female religious Islamic school which is in fact a suppressive center of Basiji women and the mullahs’ intelligence ministry.

The rebellious youth also burned posters of Khamenei and regime founder Ruhollah Khomeini, and the criminal IRGC commander Qasem Soleiman, who was killed in a U.S. drone strike last month. The regime has tried to glorify Soleimani by spending huge amounts to put billboards and posters of him everywhere across Iran. The rebellious youth are showing their utter hatred of this ruthless murderer by destroying these images.

These Iranian youths are proving once again that the devious mullahs’ regime will not be allowed to promote the image of this terrorist who has the blood of thousands of Iranians, Iraqis, Syrians and others on his hands.

In their activities, these rebellious youth also emphasized the Iranian people’s desire to overthrow the criminal and fundamentalist mullah regime.

At the same time, the rebellious youth of Isfahan torched the entrance of the Basij headquarters in Fouladshahr on February 26. Basij, a subsidiary of the terrorist-designated Revolutionary Guards, is the Iranian regime’s paramilitary forces and the most hated suppressive group that is used to crackdown protests and demonstrations such as the November nationwide uprising where 1,500 innocent protesters were shot dead in just two days. The Iranian regime offers the members of Basij bonuses and benefits such as special allocation in universities and government jobs, at the expense of ordinary Iranians. All of these has made of the Basij a much-loathed organ in the regime.

Following the November uprisings, Khamenei called on Basi forces to roam in the streets and suppress anyone who shows dissent toward the regime. The activities of the rebellious youth of Iran reflects the people’s hatred for this repressive force.
