Iran, April 20, 2021—Poor living conditions and skyrocketing prices are leading to more people holding protest rallies in cities and towns across Iran.

Faka Agro-Livestock Company in the Baharestan region, Isfahan province, central Iran pumps the sewage water of this region to the company's location for agricultural purposes and fertilizer production. Since the villagers themselves use the sewage water for agriculture, they protested the company’s measures by cutting the pipes on Monday, April 19, preventing the transfer of sewage water to the company.

On Monday, April 19, farmers in the village of Vajareh in Isfahan province held a rally in the village’s mosque, demanding their fair share of irrigation water be resolved. 

 

The farmers are seeking fair access to the waters of the Zayandehrud River, which is the main source of water for irrigation in the province. In recent years, the regime’s destructive policies and projects have considerably decreased the farmers’ access to water.

Graduate teachers in the city of Karaj, west of the Iranian capital Tehran, held a rally on Monday protesting the fact that their benefits had been decreasing. Many of these rallying teachers are barely making ends meet and having a very difficult time putting food on the table for their families.

Investors who have been deceived and lost their life savings in the stock market continued their protest rally in the city of Mashhad, northeast Iran, on Monday, April 19. They were seen chanting in their rally: “We will continue our rally until our demands are met.”

Workers of Sepahan Cement Factory in Isfahan province went on strike on Monday, protesting the company officials’ failure to pay their special bonus and annual salary raises.
