Iran: Opposition network commemorates important day in Iranian history

Reported by PMOI/MEK

Iran, July 21, 2019 – Members of “Resistance Units,” a network associated closely to the Iranian opposition group People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) marked July 21, 1952, as the anniversary of the Iranian people’s powerful support for then Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh who defended the Iranian nations’ rights.

This day also marks the founding of the Iranian opposition coalition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) by Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi back in 1981. The NCRI is now the political alternative to the mullahs’ regime and enjoys vast support both inside Iran, among the Iranian Diaspora and from thousands of dignitaries from across the political spectrum and throughout the globe.

On Saturday, over 5,000 PMOI/MEK supporters rallied in Stockholm in support of regime change in Iran by the Iranian people and their organized resistance.

In Tehran, a PMOI/MEK supporter put up an image of Massoud Rajavi and Dr. Mohammad Mosaddegh to mark this day and express his/her support.

In Mashhad, northeast Iran, members of resistance units and PMOI/MEK supporters put up similar images across the city as a reminder of the Iranian nation’s proud history of resistance for democracy and the people’s rights.

In Shiraz, south-central Iran, members of resistance units put up similar images of Massoud Rajavi and Dr. Mohammad Mosaddegh. This is a sign of the Iranian people’s will to continue this struggle until establishing true freedom, democracy, and human rights across Iran.

In Rasht, northern Iran, PMOI/MEK supporters and resistance unit members took to similar measures to voice their support for the leaders of the Iranian people’s resistance movements through the past decades.
