Reported by PMOI/MEK
Sweden – July 22, 2019 – Thousands of freedom loving Iranians rallied on Saturday, July 20, in Stockholm, Sweden, calling for:
- a firm policy and comprehensive sanctions targeting the mullahs’ regime in Iran,
- the terrorist designation of the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS), the office of Iranian regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei,
- and recognizing the Iranian people’s right to resistance in order to topple the mullahs from power.
The demonstrators voiced their all-out support for the Iranian opposition group People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and Maryam Rajavi, President of the Iranian opposition coalition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and her ten-point plan for the future of Iran. The Iranian community in Sweden strongly condemned any relations with and promotion of the mullahs’ regime, and called on European governments to prosecute, punish and expel MOIS & IRGC Quds Force.
Beginning in the Kungtärgården Square with a gathering and numerous dignitaries delivering speeches, the demonstrators continued their rally by marching through the streets of downtown Stockholm. The rally returned to the starting position with a few more speakers delivering their remarks and ending with a final resolution.
NCRI President Rajavi delivered a video message to the rally describing the initiative as the voice of PMOI/MEK “Resistance Units” and units of the National Liberation Army inside Iran to the world over. This further proves how the Iranian people and their organized resistance, both inside and abroad, are dedicating their all to realize freedom, democracy and human rights in Iran.
NCRI President Rajavi said the days of appeasing the religious fascism ruling Iran are over as the Iranian people’s perseverance and ongoing uprising is cornering the mullahs. No longer will anyone accept the regime’s lies about moderates and reform from within, she added.
