Iran coronavirus update: Over 473,700 deaths, more provinces reporting alarming stats

Iran, November 10, 2021—Over 473,700 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Wednesday afternoon local time, November 10. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 127,551, around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 111,165 in Tehran, 38,700 in Razavi Khorasan, 32,330 in Isfahan, 17,613 in West Azerbaijan, 17,435 in Fars, 17,340 in Mazandaran, 16,490 in Gilan, 12,622 in Kerman, 8808 in Hamedan, 8779 in Kermanshah, 7905 in Hormozgan, 7788 in Yazd, and 5920 in Ardabil. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Wednesday as 135 deaths and 7948 new cases. Furthermore, 3616 patients are in ICUs and 1430 of the new cases have been hospitalized.

“The number of positive cases and those being hospitalized for coronavirus have increased in some provinces and they are currently being registered as red zones,” said a senior official of the National Covid-19 Task Force on Wednesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“Currently the number of people seeking initial medical care for Covid-19 symptoms, those being hospitalized, and patients in ICUs are increasing. The number of people seeking initial medical care for Covid-19 symptoms at our 16-hour centers and hospitals has been increasing during the past four days. Yesterday we had 202 new patients hospitalized,” according to a statement released on Wednesday by the Mashhad Medical Sciences University in Razavi Khorasan province.

In Kerman province the number of daily deaths has been increasing during the past week and the number of cases is rising. The cities of Zarand and Shahr-e Babak in the northern parts of Kerman province have been registered as red zones, and the city of Kerman remains an orange zone, according to a Wednesday report wired by the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“The number of new cases per day has increased by more than 100 percent. The average number of 90 new cases on Sunday has reached 190 new cases on Wednesday,” according to a report issued on Wednesday by the Lorestan Province Covid-19 Task Force.

“During the past 24 hours 51 patients have been placed under ventilators. We currently have 936 coronavirus patients hospitalized, of which 220 are in ICUs,” said the dean of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Wednesday, according to the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.

“During the past 24 hours 109 new patients were hospitalized and 85 patients are in ICUs,” said the spokesperson of Yazd Medical Sciences University on Wednesday, according to the regime’s official IRNA news agency.

“During the past 24 hours 174 new patients were hospitalized. We currently have 1223 patients hospitalized, of which 206 are in ICUs,” according to a joint statement released on Wednesday by the Isfahan and Kashan Medical Sciences universities.

“We currently have 1597 coronavirus patients hospitalized, of which 196 are in ICUs,” said the deputy dean of Shiraz Medical Sciences University in Fars province on Wednesday, according to the state-run IKNA news agency.
