Regime President Ebrahim Raisi continued the series of lies regarding coronavirus famous to his predecessor Hassan Rouhani. “There is enough medicine available, and the vaccination process will accelerate,” he said on Friday. All physicians and experts are calling for a two-week lockdown and cancelling annual religious ceremonies. “I truly believe that these religious gatherings can have a positive impact on the society’s spirit and people’s lives,” he claimed.
The daily death toll, “based on existing forecasts and assuming the status quo continues (and not deteriorating which is quite possible), “can reach 800 per day,” said a senior Health Ministry official to Health Minister Saied Namaki on Thursday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.
“The scent of death is sensed across the country. Each and every household is grieving. Vaccines that could have saved thousands of lives were not imported and people have entered the fifth wave, with a sixth, seventh and… waves being highly likely. Many countries are celebrating the end of masking necessities and our people are in wave after wave of Covid-19,” according to a Friday piece wired by the semi-official ILNA news agency.

“Hospital branches are all packed. A large number of patients are waiting for ICU units to become available. This volume of people seeking medical care and those being hospitalized is unprecedented. All the while many patients are sent home after they have received some medication. Otherwise, we would need 1200 additional beds in our hospital complex,” said the head of Tehran’s Khomeini Hospital Complex on Friday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).
“Twice the number of minors who have contracted Covid-19 are being hospitalized. We have been forced to open an independent oxygen clinic,” said the head of Tehran’s Ali Asghar Children Hospital on Friday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.
“The death toll is actually 300 or 350 percent higher. The number of corpses buried in Behesht-e Reza Cemetery alone is between 200 to 210 per day. They raise and lower the number of daily deaths as they wish, and it has become somewhat a game with numbers,” said the director of Imam Reza Hospital’s ICU branch in Mashhad on Friday, according to the state-run Asr-e Iran daily.
“Physicians and medical professionals believe Mashhad is witnessing a catastrophe. 3170 coronavirus patients are hospitalized, and 720 new patients are being hospitalized each day. It is as if no one believes Mashhad has now become a black zone,” according to a piece published on Friday in the state-run Hamshahri daily.
