The deceitful actions of Iranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei and shedding crocodile tears for the victims of Gaza and Palestine have provoked anger and hatred among Iran’s people. This has made the mullahs’ regime and its puppets worried and fearful.
On October 27, Ahmad Alamolhoda, Khamenei’s representative and Friday prayer leader in Mashhad, said, “Some of the poisonous melodies that are being played around us now… It is truly regrettable…. Now it’s no longer about Israel and Palestine. Brothers and sisters! It’s Islam against heretics. Heretics stand on one side, and Islam on the other. And since one side is Islam and we are also Muslims, so we are also on one side of the front.”
Regime- affiliated journalist Mohammad Gouchani expresses this fear and concern in a television conversation and told the Ofogh Network on October 16, “In general, I can say that I feel that the issue of Palestine is no longer a priority for our people.”
He further referred to the recent nationwide uprisings and said, “It seems that since 2021 and even before that, since 2019, a rift has occurred that can no longer convince the people. When you talk about children and child killings, it reminds them of other incidents.” In fact, he is referring to the anger and hatred of the people towards the regime’s killing and massacre of children and adolescents during the uprisings inside Iran.
This expression of fear has resonated in the speeches of the representatives of Khamenei. On October 13, the Friday Prayer Imam of Birjand, Mohammad Mokhtari, said, “For years, the enemies have been using their media to instill in the minds of the people that the issue of Palestine has no relevance to us, whether it’s Lebanon, Syria, or Yemen. Our focus should be on our own country. They chant slogans like, ‘Neither Gaza, nor Lebanon, I’ll give my life for Iran.'”
The latter is a slogan that has become very popular in Iran as the people have become frustrated and enraged with the regime squandering the country’s wealth on warmongering in the region while Iran’s population struggles with poverty and misery every day.
On October 20, the state-run Jomhuriyeh Eslami (Islamic Republic) newspaper quoted regime-linked analyst Mohammad Javad Kashi as saying, “We witness that our collective conscience has been less affected by the war between Israel and Gaza in comparison to other parts of the world.”
He also warned about the threat of anti-regime protests by saying, “We are in need of watching our… We are like dry trees in a dead forest. An untimely spark can blow away our foundation.”
During an interview with the Ofogh network on October 23, former labor minister Ali Rabiei tried to portray the people’s hatred for the regime’s warmongering as “lack of knowledge” regarding the Palestinian issue. However, on October 21, government economist Saeed Laylaz referred to the truth and said, “The people don’t have a problem with Gaza and Lebanon; they have a problem with the government. They want to defy the state by saying, ‘No Gaza, no Lebanon.'”
Rahim Ghomeishi, an IRGC defector, described the regime’s failed attempt to hold propaganda rallies as such: “Many classes were canceled, many offices were practically closed, they had brought in military forces and soldiers in civilian clothing, yet they still couldn’t gather a noticeable crowd unless through filming techniques.”
Ghomeishi adds, “Why shouldn’t the Iranian people despise you? Why shouldn’t they feel that their country is occupied? Why shouldn’t they come to the conclusion that you want to sacrifice all of the country’s resources for your own purposes, as you have done so far?”
Yes, people of Iran have recognized the criminal regime of the mullahs. They know that the purpose of these shows and shedding crocodile tears for the people of Palestine is to block the path of the Iranian people’s uprising. These shows only further fuel the anger and hatred of the people towards this warmongering and criminal regime.
