Iran, May 05, 2020—During the Coronavirus Task Force meeting on Sunday, Iranian regime president Hassan Rouhani continued his despicable lies and said, “Many countries were bogged down by the coronavirus, but we weren’t.” Rouhani repeatedly said, “We have to prepare for the worse. We have to look at the situation with pessimism. We must be prepared for difficult and dangerous situations.”
Rouhani’s remarks in stark contrast with his earlier claims that the country has passed the peak of the virus and the regime has overcome the virus. But at the same time, he tries to cover up the truth since he wanted to announce 132 cities as white areas. Although Rouhani now uses the term “low-risk” instead of “white areas.”
“In these difficult circumstances, our tolerance must go up. Let our patience go up!” Rouhani said. His advice for patience is all he has to give to millions of workers and deprived people who, as regime newspapers acknowledges, don't even have bread to eat.
Rouhani also acknowledged “when we restarted work and businesses, there is a two-way danger of ‘life and bread’. Some will say we are dying of corona and others will say we are dying of hunger." This way, Rouhani claims that by sending people back to work and coronavirus minefields, he has had handled the “danger of life and bread”. But the reality is that the people, especially the poor workers who get affected to coronavirus, are losing both their bread and their lives.
“Many employees lost their jobs because of the closure of many businesses due to coronavirus. It is estimated that 3 million jobs will be lost, in addition to previous unemployment,” wrote the state-run daily Donyaye Eghtesad.
Now, the question is not why Rouhani is talking about economic growth and controlling the corona crisis. Clearly, the regime's only tactic to deal with this situation is to lie and reverse to the truth. But maybe the real question is why does Rouhani have to admit to the current difficult situation and in the coming days and call on the people to be patient? The answer lies in the terrible scale of the disaster and its distance from claims made by regime officials. Inevitably, this forces Rouhani and other regime propagandists to make confessions that are very bitter and painful for themselves.
In this regard, Mohammad Khodadi, Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, said, “There are media outlets abroad whose only job is to create confrontation. People also see the kind of news that they announce."
Also, Rouhani, repeatedly showed his frustration about the revelations of the MEK on his regime’s cover-up of the COVID-19 death toll and said, “When we say our situation is better than Europe regarding coronavirus, you can’t imagine what an atmosphere the satellite TV channels create!”
Of course, the role of the Mojahedin is not limited to revealing the regime’s lies. The MEK has shown a way to get rid of the problem that has plagued the Iranian people for 40 years. The Iranian resistance believes that if the regime uses coronavirus as a tool to maintain its rule, the single solution for coronavirus, for poverty, for oppression and tyranny, is to overthrow the mullahs’ religious dictatorship in its entirety.
Many Iranian officials fear the destiny that awaits the regime and desperately warn the regime’s rulers and try to convince them to reform their attitude toward the people in order to prevent uprisings. These voices inside the regime warn: “If the government does not open its horizons, we will have to wait for the radical collective behavior of the people and extreme reactions from the government-affiliated institutions and then enter the cycle of revolt and repression, violence and destruction, and finally revolution or coup d'etat or foreign intervention. This process is getting closer to its final stages, and anger and protests are rising, and the government is losing control”
But will these warnings work? Or is it too late for such warnings?
