PMOI Resistance Units across Iran strike back against the regime’s execution spree

On April 16, the PMOI Resistance Units launched a coordinated, nationwide offensive, carrying out 15 fiery operations across Iran. These daring acts targeted the regime’s centers and symbols of repression and terror. The operations were a direct and forceful response to the clerical regime’s recent wave of political executions. By striking the regime’s infrastructure of suppression, the Resistance Units delivered a clear message of defiance: the regime’s brutal use of the gallows will not terrorize the public, but rather fuel further rebellion.

Striking the symbols of repression

The operations spanned the entire country, illustrating the extensive reach of the organized resistance. In Chabahar and Iranshahr, Resistance Units directly targeted Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Basij bases. They also struck regime buildings in District 4 of Tehran and in Gonabad, alongside a regime center for terrorism and fundamentalism in Kermanshah.

Furthermore, the Resistance Units systematically dismantled the regime’s propaganda apparatus by setting fire to billboards, posters, and banners featuring former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and eliminated IRGC Quds Force Commander Qasem Soleimani in cities including Mashhad, Isfahan, Ilam, Bandar Anzali, Sonqor, and Talesh.

A desperate regime’s rush to the gallows

These daring acts of resistance were ignited by the executions of six PMOI members—Mohammad Taghavi, Akbar Daneshvarkar, Babak Alipour, Pouya Ghobadi, Abolhassan Montazar, and Vahid Bani Amerian—alongside seven young protesters who were put to death for the “crime” of resistance.

Amidst an external war, the regime, consumed by decay, rushed to execute these heroes to protect its crumbling power from the inevitable uprisings that may follow the conflict. As Khamenei’s son continues the daily execution of Iran’s youth to preserve the moribund regime’s grip on power, it has become evident that the ruling clerics view the arisen Iranian people and their organized resistance as their true enemy.

The unbreakable spirit of the martyrs

Instead of instilling fear, the martyrs demonstrated extraordinary courage that shattered the regime’s intent. PMOI member Mohammad Taghavi boldly told his executioners: “Even if you release me today, I will once again join the PMOI.”

Their final words were declarations of unwavering faith and defiance. Pouya Ghobadi stated, “I will go to the gallows firm and unshaken,” while Babak Alipour called for “a struggle a hundred times greater.” Abolhassan Montazar expressed his greatest wish was to “die like a Mojahed,” and Vahid Bani Amerian celebrated “the fight and the sacrifice of one’s life for the ideal of a just society.”

That is the legacy of PMOI Resistance Units, a spirit of defiance and rebellion that only becomes enflamed by the regime’s repression.

The failure of decades of suppression

For over 45 years, the clerical regime has exhausted every means to eliminate the PMOI. From the 1988 massacre of imprisoned to terrorist attempts against PMOI and an extensive smear campaign, the regime has sought to destroy the organized resistance.

Yet today, a new generation of rising, defiant youth has found what they seek within the PMOI, joining the ranks of the Resistance Units from across Iran.

The nationwide operations by the Resistance Units prove that the real war is between the people of Iran and religious tyranny. The solution lies neither in appeasement nor in war, but in the overthrow of the dictatorship by the Iranian people and their organized resistance.

The operations of the Resistance Units is proof that the regime’s crimes will not silence the nation. Rather, the blood and sacrifice of the martyrs for freedom inspires the great uprisings yet to come.
