In a powerful display of defiance against dictatorship, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) Resistance Units in Zahedan have renewed their calls for regime change, signaling a growing momentum for freedom and equality. The slogans and statements emerging from this movement reflect the unwavering resolve of the people of Baluchestan to reject both monarchy and clerical rule.

Prominent among their chants was the resounding call: “No to Shah, no to mullahs, yes to freedom and equality.” This sentiment underscores the people’s demand for a democratic alternative to both past and present forms of oppression. They also assert: “Down with the oppressor, be it the Shah or the mullahs,” and “No to the crown, no to the turban, the mullahs’ regime is done.”
Recent developments in the region have further emboldened the Resistance Units. Speaking about the Iranian regime’s diminishing influence, they declared, “The dismantlement of the regime’s militia in Iraq is another sign of Khamenei’s defeat in the region.” This statement highlights the broader regional implications of the regime’s weakening grip, as its proxy forces face setbacks.

The Resistance Units also emphasized the regime’s increasing reliance on executions to suppress dissent, stating, “The increase in executions is indicative of Khamenei’s fear of the uprising of the people of Baluchestan.” Such actions, they argue, reveal the regime’s desperation in the face of mounting opposition.
A particularly poignant aspect of the Resistance Units’ activism is their solidarity with the families of martyrs from the “Bloody Friday of Zahedan” massacre, which occurred on September 30, 2022, when security forces opened fire on peaceful protesters, killing more than 100, including more than a dozen children. The families have rejected any attempts by officials to silence them through financial compensation, declaring, “From the families of the martyrs of the ‘Bloody Friday of Zahedan’: We did not sacrifice to get blood money.” They continued, “Paying blood money is an insult to the families of the martyrs of the Bloody Friday. We will neither forget nor forgive.”

The martyrs’ families have also rejected any form of compromise with the regime, stating emphatically, “The blood of the Baluch will not be bought with money or blood money.” Their determination is evident as they proclaim, “We did not give martyrs to compromise with the murderous leader of the regime. We will never negotiate or compromise with the murderers of our children.”
Reflecting the broader aspirations of the people of Baluchestan, the Resistance Units have declared, “The dark era of the region will change. Freedom is near.” They also condemned the regime’s systematic abductions in the region, stating, “Abduction is another facet of the organized crimes of the regime in Baluchestan.”
