Iranian opposition network commemorates 1988 massacre victims

Reporting by PMOI/MEK

Iran, August 24, 2019–As crises inside the country and from across the globe continue to engulf the mullahs’ regime ruling Iran, members of “Resistance Units,” a network associated directly to the Iranian opposition group People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), are escalating their efforts in the month of August.

This includes commemorating the victims of the summer 1988 massacre victims in Iran. 30,000 political prisoners, mostly PMOI/MEK members and supporters, were sent to the gallows by the mullahs’ regime in a span of just a few months at prisons checkered across Iran.

Members of resistance units 1009 and 899 in Isfahan, central Iran, put up posters of Iranian opposition President Maryam Rajavi, head of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), in various parts of the city, calling for the arrest and prosecution of regime officials behind this grave crime against humanity.

The brave members of another resistance unit in the city of Ramsar, northern Iran, also put up posters of Mrs. Rajavi taking part in events held at Ashraf 3, home to PMOI/MEK members in Albania, commemorating the 1988 massacre martyrs.

Members of a resistance unit in the city of Babol, also in northern Iran, paid their respects to the graves of the massacre victims and put up a sign pledging to continue their efforts until all regime officials involved in this heinous crime face justice.

Members of a resistance unit in Tehran put up images of eight 1988 massacre victims with their names and quoting Mrs. Rajavi saying, “The 1988 massacre victims are the rebellious conscience of today’s Iran.”

Members of another Tehran resistance unit marked the 1988 massacre victims’ memory by setting up a table images of eight different victims, including Monireh Rajavi, the younger sister of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi.

Back in Isfahan, members of a resistance unit put up posters quoting Maryam Rajavi saying, “The final and undeniable solution is overthrowing the mullahs’ regime in its entirety by the Iranian people and their organized resistance.”

Members of a resistance unit put posters of the Iranian opposition President in various parts of Bandar Abbas, a major port city in southern Iran. The posters quoted Mrs. Rajavi citing the American Declaration of Independence and saying, “What is the issue at hand for us, our people and our resistance? Surrender or the fight for liberty?” The forefathers of America were facing the same circumstances and their answer was also resistance and struggle until victory.

In Khorasan Razavi Province of northeast Iran, members of Resistance Unit 741 also put up Maryam Rajavi posters emphasizing that the Iranian people and their organized resistance will take Iran back from the mullahs.

Courageous members of a resistance unit in Kashan, central Iran, put up a large poster of Maryam Rajavi pledging to overthrow the mullahs’ regime.

Members of Resistance Unit 502 in Tabriz, northwest Iran, put up a sign reading, “Hail to Rajavi, Death to Khamenei,” referring to the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and “Long live the National Liberation Army of Iran.”

Members of another resistance unit in the city of Saveh, southwest of Tehran, put up various signs emphasizing how the perpetrators of the 1988 massacre must face justice.
