Iran: PMOI/MEK Resistance Units marking the killing of Qassem Soleimani

Reporting by PMOI/MEK

Iran, January 4, 2020—Members of “Resistance Units,” a network affiliated to the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) inside Iran, continued their anti-regime activities marking the killing of Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force chief Qassem Soliemani.

Reports of Soleimani’s killing sparked joy among people in Iran and across the region, many seen rejoicing in the streets of Iraq and Syria.

All the while, Iranian regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other regime officials were engulfed in sorrow and mourning after losing their main element behind Tehran’s horrific crimes in the Middle East and beyond. The loss of Soleimani delivers a significant and strategic blow to the mullahs’ regime.

Resistance Units members are increasing their efforts in sending the message of the mullahs’ regime being on the brink of overthrow, especially following the November uprising. This goes in parallel to the strategic loss of Qasem Soleimani.

In Tehran, a banner of Iranian opposition President Maryam Rajavi, head of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), reads: “The killing of Qassem Soleimani turns the wheels of the regime’s overthrow.”

In Tehran, a poster of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi reads, “The toppling of the inhumane regime is certain.”

In Tehran, a Massoud Rajavi banner calls on members of Iran’s classic army to lay their arms down.

Other Massoud Rajavi posters read the Iranian nation’s victory is certain and a Maryam Rajavi poster calls on the Iranian people to rise and overthrow the mullahs’ regime.

The cities of Tabriz, Gorgan, Kashan, and Hamedan also witnessed resistance units members putting up similar Massoud and Maryam Rajavi posters.

In other measures, resistance units members are seen targeting sites affiliated to the IRGC paramilitary Basij and other regime security forces.

In Karaj and Tehran, a Basij base, police station and a center of the mullahs were all set ablaze.

Resistance units members in East Azerbaijan Province, Qazvin and Miandoab set fire to pro-regime propaganda posters.

The cities Tehran, Tabriz, Arak, and Karaj all witnessed the MEK-affiliated network installing images of Massoud and Maryam Rajavi encouraging the Iranian people to rise up and escalate their anti-regime measures for a new nationwide uprising.

It is worth noting that any support for the PMOI inside Iran is considered punishable by death by the mullahs’ judiciary. Back in June 2014, Gholamreza Khosravi, an MEK supporter, was arrested and executed merely for sending a small financial donation to a satellite TV network affiliated to the PMOI/MEK. “Gholamreza Khosravi Savadjani was arrested in 2008 in Rafsanjan, Kerman Province, in connection with his alleged support of the pro-PMOI (People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran) TV station Sima-ye Azadi (Voice of Freedom),” according to Amnesty International.
