Resistance Units commemorate International Workers’ Day across Iran

On the occasion of International Workers’ Day (May 1, 2025), the Resistance Units affiliated with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) organized a series of bold field activities across multiple Iranian cities. These acts expressed full solidarity with Iranian workers, especially the victims of the Bandar Abbas explosion, and rejected the social and political injustice perpetrated by the regime of the Supreme Leader against the working class.

These activities took place in over 20 cities, including: Bandar Abbas, Tehran, Tabriz, Mashhad, Isfahan, Rasht, Ahvaz, Sari, Zanjan, Karaj, Kermanshah, Bushehr, Yasuj, Lahijan, Shahroud, Shush, Saveh, Qaemshahr, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Hamedan, and Kerman.

In Tehran, Tabriz, Mashhad, Ahvaz: “Storing missile fuel near unaware civilians and innocent workers is a crime against humanity” — a direct reference to the Bandar Abbas explosion.

In Rasht and Mashhad: “We hail the hardworking workers of Bandar Abbas and salute the martyrs and the injured on the eve of International Workers’ Day.”

In Isfahan, Sari, Zanjan, Qaemshahr, Mashhad: Slogans calling for the overthrow of the regime and unity among the oppressed: “Workers and the National Liberation Army will overthrow the mullahs’ tyranny”, “Every worker’s cry: Down with the oppressor, whether Shah or Mullah”, “The Shah and the Mullahs are enemies of Iranian workers”, “Poverty, corruption, high prices… we will overthrow this regime”, “Our resistance rose to end the unemployment and poverty of millions of workers”.

In Mashhad, Tehran, and other regions: “Workers and the deprived, the PMOI supports you and stands with you in your struggle”.

In Sari, Shahroud, Lahijan, Zanjan, Yasuj: “Happy International Workers’ Day to all the workers and deprived people of our homeland”, “Workers are awake… they despise both Shah and Mullah”.

These actions are not symbolic gestures but a direct expression of unity between the Resistance Units and Iran’s working class. They reflect the message that the Iranian Resistance fights not only against political tyranny but also against deep-rooted economic and social injustice.

Through these efforts, the Resistance Units aim to:
– Expose the regime’s crimes against workers
– Break the atmosphere of repression with bold slogans
– Bring the voice of Iran’s workers to the world
– Assert that the path to workers’ rights begins with the overthrow of the religious dictatorship

Ultimately, they believe that the liberation of Iranian workers can only be achieved in a democratic Iran — free of both Shah and Mullah — based on popular sovereignty and social justice.
