Rebellious youth mark anniversary of Iran’s 1979 revolution by targeting centers of repression

Iran’s regime has been using the anniversary of the 1979 revolution to repeat its annual propaganda campaign by staging pro-government rallies and creating the false impression of popular support for the tyrannical rule of the mullahs.

However, on the eve of the anniversary of the 1979 revolution Iran’s rebellious youths in dozens of cities marked this important event by targeting the regime’s centers of repression and corruption, which have become emblematic of the four-decade rule of the religious fascism.

In Isfahan and Kermanshah, the rebellious youths targeted the bases of the Revolutionary Guards Basij forces with explosives. A similar act was carried out in Kerman. The Basij has played an important goal in killing protesters during nationwide uprisings in recent years and in suppressing students and youths across Iran.

This is the latest in a series of targeted attacks by the youths of Iran against the IRGC and other regime’s centers of repression, terrorism, and looting of public property. Iran’s rebellious youths are defying the regime’s efforts to cause fear in the public and control the growing restiveness in society through repression, executions, and violent punishments.

In Tehran and Neyshabur, the rebellious youth targeted Basij bases that have been tasked with spying on and suppressing students who oppose the regime. In Isfahan, rebellious youths set fire to the entrance sign of IRGC Basij bases.

The rebellious youths also marked the anniversary of the 1979 revolution by targeting banners and posters of regime leaders and symbols of the mullahs’ rule.

In Tehran, Mashhad, Tabriz, Isfahan, Gorgan, Kermanshah, Yasuj, Dezful, Astara, and Khaf in Khorasan Razavi province, the rebellious youths set fire to propaganda banners with images of regime founder Ruhollah Khomeini and current supreme leader Ali Khamenei.

In Zahedan, the youth set fire to a street sign named after Khomeini.

In Talesh and Azadshahr, large posters of Khomeini were ripped apart. And in Isfahan, Rasht, Bandar Abbas, and Kashan, the youths marked the anniversary of the revolution by spraying paint on regime centers that have been named after Khomeini. In Gachsaran, Shiraz, and Khoy, the rebellious youths spayed paint on posters of Khomeini.

The youths of Iran also continue to mark their opposition to the regime’s repressive measures against the impoverished people of Iran.

In Tehran and Zahak, the rebellious youth targeted regime centers that are tasked with attacking and destroying the makeshift homes of slum dwellers. The attack was in solidarity with people whose homes have been destroyed by regime authorities in recent days.

In Tabriz, the rebellious youth targeted the offices of Khomeini foundation with explosives. The act came as the regime continues to hand out many execution sentences, especially to Baluch youths and dissidents.

In Kermanshah, the youths also attacked the Khomeini foundation with explosives, which is deeply involved in the looting of the wealth of the Iranian people.

These activities are taking place despite the regime’s extensive efforts to suppress any form of protest and dissent. The regime has carried out a record number of executions in the final months of 2023 and has started 2024 with another violent wave of executions.

The regime has been especially harsh against dissidents and has carried out an alarming number of political executions, hanging youths who took part in nationwide uprisings in recent years and political prisoners who have been lingering in prisons for several years.

But as the actions of the rebellious youth show, no amount of repressive measures will dissuade the people of Iran will from their goal to overthrow the regime and establish a democratic republic.
