As the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) prepares to mark the 59th anniversary of its founding, a group of political prisoners in Evin Prison have sent a message to congratulate this achievement.
The Evin prisoners stated in their message: “In the days of despair and disillusionment after 1963 [the crackdown by the shah regime on civil protests], and in an atmosphere filled with questions about what should be done, three young trailblazers, who had a faith in monotheism and the evolving force governing the universe stronger than Mount Damavand, rose up and resolved to, after gaining the necessary qualifications, solve the issue of struggle in Iran— a struggle for independence and the people’s right to sovereignty.”
The Evin prisoners added: “On September 6, 1965, [Mohammad] Hanif, Saeed [Mohsen], and [Ali Asghar] Badizadegan founded a group that, a few years later, became known as the ‘People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran.’ Their steps echoed the onset of a new revolution for Iran’s future. Their legacy was the planting of seeds of ‘sincerity,’ ‘sacrifice,’ unity, purity, and liberation. Over the years and through many milestones, what they planted has grown into the current strong and righteous tree.”
The message of the Evin prisoners continued: “In its evolutionary process and under the light of its monotheistic and anti-exploitative views, and with the grace of its selfless leadership, this organization has undertaken an internal and unifying revolution that heralds external transformations and a new social revolution for the Iranian people.”
“The People’s Mojahedin Organization is a treasure of resistance and sacrifice… under the leadership of women.”
“We congratulate the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, its leadership, the first in command, and the heroic people of Iran on entering the 60th year of this organization’s life. Greetings to all those who bear the heavy burden of the mission to liberate Iran.”
