PMOI Resistance Units in Zahedan prove the regime’s intimidation campaign has failed
Despite the Iranian regime’s frantic attempts to crush internal dissent through an unprecedented wave of fear and repression, PMOI Resistance Units in Zahedan boldly resumed their anti-regime activities on April 24. As the clerical regime finds itself at its weakest and most vulnerable point in history, its leaders are realizing a fundamental truth: their primary existential threat is not external war, but the deep-seated popular outrage and the organized resistance of the Iranian people. The regime’s efforts to intimidate the public have visibly failed.

Shattering the atmosphere of fear
Taking to the streets in Zahedan, the courageous Resistance Units displayed placards in public spaces with bold messages of resistance, disrupting the regime’s calculations. They proudly declared that
“No system built on fear, repression, torture, and executions can endure in the long run.” Through their ongoing defiance, the activists emphasized that the sacrifice of Iran’s heroic rebels has “exposed and broke the silence and censorship imposed against the resistance.” Reminding the public of the movement’s deep roots, placards read,
“For over 60 years, our Resistance has stood firm in an unbroken fight against the dictatorships of both the Shah and the mullahs, and today it stands as a symbol of hope for the future.”
The mullahs have increasingly exploited wartime conditions to carry out relentless executions, attempting to block the path of popular uprisings. In just three weeks, the regime executed eight PMOI members—including Commander Hamed Validi and Mohammad Massoum Shahi, who were hanged recently—along with eight young protesters.

However, the Resistance Units in Zahedan remained unintimidated. They openly condemned these political executions, stating that “The brutal executions reflect the impasse the mullahs have found themselves in.” Rather than a deterrent, the activists framed the fallen heroes as the necessary cost of liberation.
Their placards read: “PMOI martyrs are the price paid for Iran’s freedom and independence,” and “The martyrs of the uprising are the price paid for a durable peace that will extend across Iran and the wider region.”
Rejecting fake alternatives and past dictatorships
The activists in Zahedan also highlighted the dual barriers to Iran’s freedom: the current ruling regime and the remnants of the former monarchical dictatorship who seek to hijack the uprising.
The Resistance Units outright rejected a return to the past, carrying signs demanding that the “entire system of both the mullahs and the Shah, which are structures of tyranny and subservience, must be dismantled at its roots.” They called for the rejection of “Fascist chants like ‘Long live the Shah,’ ‘Only the Rastakhiz Party,’ ‘the only party is the party of God (Hezbollah),’ and ‘Khamenei is the leader’.”
As some circles in the West try to promote fabricated alternatives built on digital engineering and falsehoods to divide the people, the Zahedan activists noted that the recent temporary ceasefire “exposed the Shah’s son, bringing down the façade of his so-called ‘humanitarian’ war-mongering in disgrace.”
They declared that the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) offers a “legitimate alternative, grounded in the sacrifice of 100,000 martyrs of freedom,” which is fundamentally different from fake alternatives that “only exist on paper.”
Mirroring the formal policy demands of the Iranian Resistance on the global stage, the Resistance Units in Zahedan directly addressed the international community, specifically the European Union.

Their messages demanded that the EU “must condition its relations with the regime on stopping the executions of prisoners and the killing of protesters.” Furthermore, they insisted that “The regime’s embassies in the European Union must be closed, and the agents and operatives of the Ministry of Intelligence and the IRGC must be expelled,” and that European nations “should hold the regime’s leaders accountable for crimes against humanity and genocide, and pursue legal action against them.”
By boldly presenting these demands on the streets of Zahedan, the Resistance Units have proven that the mullahs’ desperate reliance on executions to instill fear has failed. They continue to pave the way toward peace and freedom, hoping that the temporary ceasefire “will bring an end to the war and open the path toward peace and freedom,” cementing their role as the true force capable of overthrowing the religious dictatorship
