PMOI Resistance Units commemorate February 8 martyrs across Iran

The network of the supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) inside Iran, known as the Resistance Units, organized various activities commemorating the anniversary of Ashraf Rajavi, Mousa Khiabani, and other PMOI members killed by the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) on February 8, 1982.

The activities, held from north to south and east to west in Iran, including in cities such as Rasht, Tehran, Karaj, Shiraz, Isfahan, Sari, Babol, Nowshahr, Sanandaj, Qazvin, Kermanshah, Bandar Abbas, Zahedan, and Sabzevar, involved hanging banners, writing slogans, and distributing flyers bearing messages from Masoud Rajavi and Maryam Rajavi. These messages convey the meanings of sacrifice, resistance, and continuing the march until the Islamic Republic regime is overthrown.

In Tehran, a banner was raised featuring words from Maryam Rajavi, the elected president of the resistance, saying: “Ashraf and Mousa set examples of self-sacrifice for the people of Iran.”

In the city of Rasht, a large banner was hung stating “Ashraf and Mousa, immortal symbols of the Iranian people,” while in Tehran, commemoration ceremonies were held with the participation of Resistance Units, and a banner was hung with words from Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), regarding Ashraf and Mousa. These actions, in addition to honoring the martyrs of freedom, express the resistance’s firm resolve to continue the struggle until achieving the ultimate goal.

In Karaj, the Resistance Units distributed flyers that read, “The path of Ashraf and Mousa will continue until this regime is overthrown.” Other posters read, “The blood of Ashraf and Mousa lives through the young generation.”

In Shiraz, a poster was installed with a quote from the martyr Mousa Khiabani: “We have come a long way full of hardships, and a more glorious path lies ahead.”

In Sanandaj, Resistance Units installed a banner with the writing: “Ashraf and Mousa, the immortal symbols of the Iranian people.”

In Sari, Babol, and Nowshahr, flyers were distributed by the Resistance Units stating: “The blood of Ashraf and Mousa is a torch on the path to the freedom of the Iranian people.”

These activities demonstrate the deep relationship between different generations of freedom fighters and affirm that PMOI martyrs Ashraf and Mousa continue to inspire the youth and pioneers of freedom in Iran. Through distributing flyers and hanging banners across different parts of the country, the Resistance Units sought to spread their message on the necessity of continuing the struggle and preserving the principles of the freedom path’s martyrs.

Rasht: A large banner was installed with the inscription: “Masoud Rajavi, Ashraf and Mousa, are the eternal symbols of the Iranian people.”

The Resistance Units have increased their activities as the regime has been trying to suppress any support for the PMOI and the NCRI and create the illusion that there is no alternative to the regime’s brutal rule.

Among these measures is an ongoing court case against more than 100 members of the PMOI and the NCRI. The regime had publicized this court for several months and will start the hearings this week. At the same time, the regime has increased repressive measures on PMOI supporters in prison and the families of PMOI members.

Having failed to destroy Iran’s Resistance movement and prevent the new generation to join the PMOI’s cause, they are setting up another court case in hopes of causing fear in the public. At the same time, the regime is engaging in extensive propaganda efforts to demonize the PMOI and cause fear among the Iranian public, especially the youths who are fed up with tyranny and want regime change.

However, not only has the regime’s efforts failed to dismay Iran’s youths from gravitating toward the PMOI but it has steeled their resolve to be part of the movement to overthrow the religious fascism that has taken Iran hostage for its evil deeds.
